I wonder if he is signing on the dotted line, or if he is just sniffing around. This would be a good pick up. Although I would prefer O.J Otogwe.

IMO, if he does sign he'll only be a rotational guy for run downs. He is good at stopping the run. The pass? Not so much.

Thought they said they'd "aggressive, but smart" in FA. Brandon Merriweather? Neither aggressive nor smart. It's still early though.

I wonder how he got through the metal detectors at Dove Valley. Whoever was working security needs to be fired.

This is not a player I signed off on.

If they sign this guy, it is not with my permission, I just wanna get that out there now.:coffee:

Please GOD no. He sucks. He was one of the most overrated bums in NE and made the Pro Bowl by being on ESPN for his occasional big hit.

I only remember him missing tackles and being a big fat stiff. A rookie draft pick in the 4th round is better than this loser.

I see him chasing Ray Rice on the first play of the WC game in NE where he took a high school like angle to tackle him.

Just my humble opinion, not that, that means anything

Meriweather is better then the bums we have right now. What we have a 40 Year old safety who is about 2 kicks away from showing up at game time in a wheel chair, and a hand full of viagra. The other rookies just degressed at the end of the season, and looked no better then a practice squad player who was just called up to fill a jersey and a little bit of space out on the field.

I don't think the Broncos have much choice but to address the weakness at safety. No matter what round we drafted safeties in the past, its just plain and simply non of them panned out. My only problem with Brandon is he is a little bit on the small side for the safety position, and too slow to be a corner. Although, I do believe he is an upgrade from what we have right now.

I disagree about Carter. I think he played rather well considering the lack of camp and being thrown into the starting lineup. Moore sucks though. I hope to God that his ineptitue had everything to do with the lack of camp.

This fits a NEED, a glaring need at that. He may not be ideal but he's an upgrade.

So he is a piece of garbage with some amonia on it as opposed to a regular piece of garbage.

there have to be better options than this guy.. I think I thought the same about McGehee last year so what do I know?..

I think we could do worse than Merriweather/Carter... It'd be nothing to get overly excited about, but considering some of the bums we've seen rotated through the safety spot over the last 5 years, this would be ok. Lord knows we've wasted enough draft picks on that position.

Meriweather in his best days never had McGahees heart from even his Buff or Balt days. Meriweather is a poor excuse for an NFL player and should be in the CFL if anywhere.

When Brandon is out of position or overruns a play and gives up an 80 yard run, you would not think he is not a bum

You must be thinking about Tebow... And his passing game..

More "hate" for a QB that threw for 316 against a superior opponent in a playoff win...

Perfect example of why doucehbaggery abounds.

Tebow at least is not a cheapshot artist that shoud not be in the NFL like Brandon. Maybe he can go watch some football for dummy videos on how to wrap up and make a tackle
and not try to be Ronnie Lott and go for the knockout and get toasted in doing so. He is a turd in shoulderpads

You may be right, Med. I guess I'm hoping it's a low risk/high reward situation. I don't think we'd be dumb enough to overpay him. So if we get him at a low price while his stock is down, maybe something will click and he'll live up to his 1st rd potential.

We can dream right. I do agree he will make about the vet min or slightly more. I just dont like him and have seen way too many of his games. Maybe he finally grows up and gets it.
