Sign Manning, trade Tebow with whatever else you have to except the #25 pick to get their first (thinking next years first and Tebow or somethig along thise lines) and draft Luke Kuechly at 7 (I think thats the Jags pick) and draft either Cox (DT) or Martin at #25. Championship!!!!

I've always hated Mannings. Funny that you call me a Tebowite though - especially because this an entirely legitimate concern. This is 2012 Manning. This is not the Manning that lit it up all those years. I guess you could just try to undermine my credibility, but that won't remove legitimate concerns. Obviously, if Manning can still ball (and Wayne comes on board), we'd be insane to not make a legitimate offer.

Anywho, I was really hoping he'd go the Chiefs because he wouldn't last through the two divisional games against our passrush.

“This has to be exciting for the average Broncos fan. Certainly, this puts Tim Tebow’s future in doubt here in Denver and the reports that we have heard were if the Broncos were able to land Manning they would make an attempt to trade Tim Tebow. So there’s no question the Broncos are all in on Manning. They want to make him the next quarterback of the Denver Broncos,” said Miller.

“If things go the way they want, Manning will be playing for the Denver Broncos and Tim Tebow will be playing elsewhere. The Broncos are determined that Peyton Manning is the man they want to be their quarterback.”

Clay, do you think signing Manning will bring Bronco fans back together?

The healing cant begin until Tebow is gone. Getting rid of Tebow peacfully can only come with the clout and hope Manning brings. If we trade Tebow, Sign manning, and draft a young stallion that has all the things Tebow does not, we will be good to go.

Sign Manning. Trade Tebow to Jax for a second rounder, resign Quinn for back up and draft a QB next year (deeper class of QB's) let rook sit behind Manning for a couple years till Mannings done.

This would make me happy.

Ive been alright with Manning coming here since the idea of him not being a colt started to come about(its on this forum somewhere) but the closer it gets the more concerned I am about it.

I really dont want this to be the place QBs come to die, and im not 100% sold that the guy will ever even be a shadow of himself. We are talking about nerve regrowth on a guy who is psuhing 40.

Also where do this leave us in 2 years maybe 3. Assuming that the teams moves the way the fan base here seems to feel would be best. (trading away a young QB that has potential, despite the nonsense some spew)

Trading Tebow, not that im sold on him either, would be the 2nd time ive heard this team back a guy only to fark him around and send him floating. Personaly I dont like it, but thats the buisness right? Loyalty to players in no longer part of the NFL.

In a nut shell, I would think that investing in a series of young quality FA's and not signing a old QB with health questions, would be better to get us into a position to build a long running competitve team. Not just some flash in the pan.

Vic Lombardi said on am 1510 that there would be 25 or more QBs that would see the bench if Manning was on the same team. I have to agree with this. So for all of the Tebowners crying, realize that Manning has been the best hands down pocket passer in the NFL in the last decade. Romo would take a backseat, Palmer would take a backseat, Cutler would take a backseat, Schuab would take a back seat and on and on. So Tebow or his fanboys shouldnt get butthurt. My advice to Tim is hold the clipboard and learn from the best and yes the Broncos will find a way to get you in the game THIS year if you are willing to put the team first.

He has his money. 14 years in the league and crazy endorsements saw to that. He likely wants another chance to win. I think our cap room will be the difference if we do land him. Dont minimize the oportunities in Denver.

Miami and Denver both have solid defenses and solid offensive lines. Neither has a TE to speak of. We have talented, but young WRs. Miami has a more talented, but psychotic WR. Their run game is much more dangerous than ours minus Tebow. Miami isn't that much worse than us...if at all. You saw what they did when Moore got comfortable. They got real scary, real quick.

Forgive me for enjoying a different aspect of the game. The last few years with some of these dumbasses we have had here must have me entirely jaded.

I would honestly be over the moon if we got Peyton and Reggie Wayne. Tebow would have the chance to develop his skills under a master. Broncos would be superbowl bound.

Sorry Dog, but Brock left me feeling cold and empty and I hate him for it.

that's cool-- i'm not some osweiler leg-humper or somethin'. . . actually, this whole QB class besides the top two kinda leaves me cold. . . i'll take brock over weeden's old ass, but it's no great endorsement. . .

IF we sign manning (i still can't believe we will), my preference would be keeping tebow as our developmental QB. . . i still think he has a lot of potential, and haven't forgotten that we won games with him even as raw as he was. . . plus he's a versatile guy who can potentially fill more roles than just backup QB-- and even more importantly, i believe we've already paid the bulk of his contract, making him affordable and cap-friendly. . .

ya know, not to mention the fact that we already have him, and don't have to burn a draft pick for a guy to not get reps behind the forehead for the next two-three years. . . i don't think manning did much mentoring in indy, and if he comes here, it ain't what he's comin' here for either. . . and if we get him, we're going after some of his boys from indy also, and they won't be cheap either. . . it's a two to three year all-in, and win or lose we'll most likely be rebuilding in one way or another in a few years. . .

and most of all, why the hell do you go after all those guys, and spend all that money, if you aren't 100% committed to winning it all NOW?

if we get manning, **** wasting any second or third round picks on any low odds chump QB prospects!

get doug freakin' martin in the second-- he's ready to help right now. . .

KC is going on record and saying they will match any offer given to Manning.

Is this just about money or where Manning will be the man, run the show and believe he can win a championship? I have to think its not just about the money.

somebody made a good point earlier. . . pioli was in new england when spy gate may have robbed peyton of titles, and the pats mugged manning's receivers so bad the league changed the rules. . . highly doubt peyton wants any part of pioli. . .

Follow the link and watch, Shefter makes some interesting comments about Miami and people that have turned them down recently. Not really sure what to make of that:

not me. . . he's the one i'd be the least excited about. . . he's only played 17 games over the past two seasons combined, and has been nagged by injuries his whole career. . .

know the last time reggie wayne missed a game, esse?

try 2002. . .

still want clark more?

i'll take garcon over either of 'em, though. . . he's younger, and was just as productive as wayne last year. . . he brings more of the speed element that our offense needs, and is an effective kick returner (whether we'd use him as such or not). . .

fair question. . . i'd probably pay him more with manning here than i would without. . . i don't mind getting wayne if we get manning-- i'd hate the idea otherwise. . .

ultimately, you gotta give manning one guy he's familiar with-- i'd be fine with with either wayne or garcon. . . we don't need both, or clark. . . manning has done fine with young wideouts no more talented than decker and DT, and tight ends less talented than julius thomas. . . or fells, who caught 41 balls two years ago in st. louis. . .

honestly, if we did get potatohead, i'd be even more in favor of signing benjarvus green-ellis. . . you absolutely HAVE to have a smart veteran back who's strong in pass pro, and i'll burn puppies if anybody suggests getting addai's gimp ass. . .

Oh and here's some food for thought...
6 months ago me n my lady had a baby girl, we named her Payton.
And a few years back I met Dallas Clark...and I told him that he should sign with Denver if the opportunity arose.

Both very true stories...

whether we sign the guy or not, it's pretty f'n cool that arguably the most significant free agent ever made his first serious visit to denver. . . think that would have happened a few years ago?

it stung when harbaugh wouldn't even meet with us-- even worse to have mike punk ass mularkey back out of an interview, even though i was happy he did. . .

with john elway running the show, and a division title and playoff win in he and fox's first season, we shouldn't have to put up with that kind of shit any more. . . we've restored some of our lost credibility. . .

Enough can't be said about what a class act Manning truly is. Manning is merely showing respect for Elway as HOF SB winning QB more so than the Denver Broncos' Organization itself. Manning may not sign with Denver, however, Elway's greatness as a player has already restored the Broncos respect in the NFL.

Elway's decision to show immediate seriousness to sign Peyton Manning only magnifies how much he deep down believes that in the 2012 season, Tebow isn't yet ready to step up and become the accurate-efficient pocket passing QB that he so badly wants.

So as an insurance policy, to keep Tebow on his toes, and to push Tebow in training camp and in the preseason, Elway will draft (move up in the draft) a QB that has played in a pro-style offense, that can read defenses, can make all the throws accurately-consistently enough to challenge Tebow for the starting job in 2013 or replace Tebow by the 8th to 10th game of the 2012 season should Tebow show the necessary improvements.

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine this scenario. Its 2013 or 2014-----Manning to Tebow.....for a 28 yard TD pass an reception. Tebow runs over 2 would be tacklers for TD for his first TD pass from Manning and as a Tight End.
Tebow makes the Pro Bowl and is on his way to the HOF.

Never Say Never! The first NFL team that can convince Tebow to switch to TE will have one of the best TE's in NFL History!!!

Peyton Manning watch begins again this morning:

@dmac1043

Good morning manning watchers. Did pm stay the night? Is he still here? I'm headed over to centennial airport now to snoop around will be

There in less than 15 minutes somebody said Espn said pm was here for 6 hours and then left but I had him with the broncos gang at chcc til

At least 11pm. Also I got it from another good source he was staying the night. However ALL of this is TMZ like rumors as none of us are

Actually with him. Let me tell you tracking PM is a more upbeat and fun than covering Perrish cox

For some reason, that line of thinking just seems silly now.

Being traded for Peyton Manning is not nearly as disrespectful as being traded for Matt Cassell.
