On local Ch4 news, they were talking about Abine - they said that it was put into affect to block what google is now doing. Would like opinions on what others think about this.

Abine Inc. said Thursday it has acquired Google Inc.'s sharing privacy service for an undisclosed amount.

Boston-based Abine specializes in online consumer privacy protection.

The service was developed by security expert and Web engineer Moxie Marlinspike. GoogleSharing makes searching on Google anonymous, while preventing the Mountain View-based search giant (NASDAQ:GOOG) from gathering personal information about consumers' search histories.
