Along with the news that the Broncos had hired Jack Del Rio as defensive coordinator last Friday, the team announced that Luke Richesson was joining the club as its strength and conditioning coach.

It’s a move that Del Rio said shouldn’t go unnoticed.

“I think he’s a really good coach,” Del Rio said in a conference call Monday. “He’s all about helping the team win.”

Welcome to the new millenium !
This is a dream come true! Big upgrade, huge win for JE and our Broncos !
I have been begging for this day and with the dude coming right out of the premier performance lab in the country, it could not be sweeter!
JDL was a nice hire, he may stay or go, but our new S & C director will enhance the performance of our ENTIRE team !
and hopefully for many years to come.

I am extremely excited about this change in our strength and conditioning program. I've done some research on Luke and it looks like he's a dedicated professional with a lot of cutting edge philosophies. Interestingly, Luke's wife is a nutrition professional and she worked with the Jaguars in designing healthy alternative food choices for their players. Here's an interview article on Luke with a link to his wife's endeavors as well:

TUTEN WAS DOGSHIT! HE KNEW nothing ABOUT CONDITIONING, ONLY LIFTING WEIGHTS. HE GOT HIS DEGREE IN marketing, NOT SPORTS SCIENCE, EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY, NUTRITION OR HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY OR PHYSICAL REHAB, none OF IT but a masters in marketing, signing on with sport suppliemt companies! worthless lead-head !

This doesn't even come close to answering the question that was asked? Why wasn't he retained in Jacksonville? It's a legitimate question.

This doesn't even come close to answering the question that was asked? Why wasn't he retained in Jacksonville? It's a legitimate question.I dont know. why didnt we keep sharpe?
or Portis?
or hillis or cutler?
who cares?
their loss( the jags) is definatly our gain especially when you consider the HUGE TURD he is replacing!
the back end of that question, "we retained tuten".
is what I chose to respond about.
How is that all about zam?

I believe I read somewhere that his contract ran out and wasn't renewed. So I guess you could say what you want but it sounds to me like he was fired. Personally, I like the move.

Rich Tuten, the Broncos' strength and conditioning coach since 1995, will not be back in 2012.

The team confirmed that it is identifying candidates to lead the strength and conditioning department.

"After 17 years, the Broncos have decided to make a change in their strength program," Tuten said. "It's been a great part of me and my family's life. I would like to thank Mr. Bowlen (team owner Pat Bowlen) for his support and we wish the Broncos the very best."

Ravage!!!

So.. because he had his degree in Marketing... he knew NOTHING about what he was doing, yet able to retain his position with a professional staff (three different professional staffs)... for 17 years. Yet, he was clueless. Oooo kayy. Makes sense.

tuten knows NOTHING about nutrition. NOTHING about exercise physiology.
NOTHING about aerobics or conditioning. he just knows lifting weights and building mass.
worthless sack of shit for the modern NFL!
