Took a little work, and some estimations, but it looks like Denver has 35 players under contract for 2012, and with a few bonus estimations based on last year and signing bonuses, Denver has about $79.3 million on the books already for 2012, with 18 players to sign (salary cap I believe figures come in to play for the 53 man roster at the beginning of the season, so that's assuming all 35 players currently under contract make the roster).

This is from a FootballFutures forum:

Looks like there is no floor until 2013...so, once again, don't expect much from the Broncos this offseason.....and PB takes advantage of the last year without a cap floor. PB will be on a big timbe budget. Get ready for all those posters who applaud how wise he and Elway are being...when in reality, he is cheap.....hear that bird folks....cheap, cheap, cheap!
Everone's doing their mock's and what not and many questions have come up about the cap in general and what out present Cap situation is. The following is a list of very good links and some highlighted portions of those articles.

2011-2014 NFL Minimum Base Salaries By Year
Year R 2nd 3rd 4th-6th 7th-9th 10th
2011 $375,000 $450,000 $600,000 $685,000 $810,000 $910,000
2012 $390,000 $465,000 $615,000 $700,000 $825,000 $925,000
2013 $405,000 $480,000 $630,000 $715,000 $840,000 $940,000
2014 $420,000 $495,000 $645,000 $730,000 $855,000 $955,000

The salary cap is a "hard" number. Roughly $142.4 million. That number includes all player benefits.
After benefits are takin out that leaves $120.375 million for player contracts during one league year, (expires March 15th).
The "Salary Floor" is 89% of the cap starting in the league year 2013.
This is the part alot of people are not understanding. League wide, teams must spend 95% of the Cap. If league wide teams spend less then 95% of the cap, that money is distributed to the players. So, if teams only spend 93% of the Cap, as a league, the remaining 2% is divided equally among the more then 2,000 players in the NFL. under that senerio each player would get roughly $1,200.
The difference between the Floor and the Cap is the amount left out for "achievable bonuses".
Only the top 51 salaries apply toward the Cap.

The Rookie Cap is unique to each team under it's own Cap. Last season we had 10 rookies with a cap number close to 10 million.

As near as I can tell we are sitting somewhere around 80 million against next years Cap at the end of this league year on March 15th. It appears we have no "Dead Money" against the Cap next season at this point.

For all of us that think Asante, among others, are gone because of their salaries. We couldn't be more wrong. Next season, 2013, also includes a provision that we could borrow 1.5 million from a "future year" for Vet. contracts. This past season it was 3.0 million.
All in all, it looks like we are in excelant Cap shape even after the spending spree the front office went on last season.

Compare his salary to Andre Goodmans of 5 yr/20 mill. Goodman is way overpayed.

I would rather us spend that kind of money on Tyvon Branch. We need to get younger in the secondary. I like Dawkins but he's old and injury prone. He wont play a full 16 games next year so hopefully he retires. That would help free up some more cap room.

Also one thing to note is I think Shanahan and McDaniels salaries are both officially off the books. We have cleared up alot of dead cap room. So Bowlen shouldnt be so cash poor in the near future.
