This evening Josh McDaniels, coach of the Denver Broncos, and Jay Cutler, franchise QB of the Broncos, tried to reconcile over what has been a tumultuous past week. It didn't go well thanks to a social faux pas.
"All of Denver knows I wear my Rolling Stones shirt on Wednesdays." The "one with the tongue on it" Cutler explained. "I mean, that's my favorite shirt." Asked why he loves a shirt with a tongue sticking out, Cutler shrugged. "I just do."
The Denver coach tried to make some progress by turning the shirt around. Cutler refused the correction, apparently having said "it's still the same shirt."
McDaniels apologized, "I completely forgot, to be honest. I screwed up. Everyone knows Wednesday is Cutler's Rolling Stones-shirt day, and I screwed it up."
"Still," he continued, "it's just a shirt."
