View Full Version : Broncos will be more aggressive when Tim Tebow's passing accuracy improves

This may not be something criitics of McCoy want to admit but it's still part of the reason that we ran as much as we did. If Tebow does become a more accurate quarterback I don't see us ever throwing the 57% of time like the Patriots but the ratio of run to pass will be closer to 1:1.

Broncos will be more aggressive when Tim Tebow's passing accuracy improves

The Denver Post

Q: I keep hearing that the Broncos need to be more aggressive on offense, especially after losing 45-10 at New England in the AFC semifinals. How much more aggressive do you think coach John Fox will be in the 2012 season?

A: The Broncos won't be more aggressive on offense until Tim Tebow's completion percentage improves.

Doesn't that depend on the temperature being above 32 degree Fahrenheit? :D

No, I've seen the snow melt away on a sunny day where the temp outside was 10º F with the wind chill making it 0º F.

All things good = Tebow. All things bad = bad receivers, bad coaching, "the man", O-Line, Rookie season (even though its his 2nd), "not letting him loose", etc...

Tebow needs to improve no doubt. Nobody in this thread has implied otherwise. Your trigger finger is just a bit itchy.

Well, if you want to get serious.....Tebow needs a more work and help than some of those other rookies, so yes, I believe missing the offseason with coaches did set him back.

True. Blaine Gabbert might take the worst starting QB title. But it's debatable.

If we’re taking shots and they’ve got nine in the box, your percentage is not going to be 60 percent. If you’re 50 percent, you’re going to be in good shape because you’re making big plays within that 50 percent.

It really comes down to how the defense plays us. I think if they drop back and play zone, you’ve definitely got to be over 60 percent. But if you’re getting man free or straight man coverage all the time, you’re not going to be a 60 percent passer.

I won't make excuses, but how many starts does he have under his belt?

It takes awhile to be a good QB. And we don't need an Elway/Marino/Montana.

We need a McNair/Hasselbeck/Schaub type.

It pisses me off how we think we have a birthright on a HOF QB.

Elway said that a Super Bowl caliber team is great on one side of the LOS and
good on the other. It is obvious to me that Fox and Allen are busy building
greatness on the defensive side. So I couldn't agree with you more regarding
the quarterback position . . .

Hey, Top, hope all is well.

The D is going to get our home field advantage back. Elway was spot on about that.

We need a semi-clutch QB that limits turnovers, and can hit underneath stuff.

Tebow can do some of that, but isn't consistent. Which is probably par for the course for a 2nd year starter.

We all WANT a HOF QB. But they don't exactly grow on trees.

But depth does. And raising the quality of ALL of our positions.

I am not comparing Steve Young to Tebow, so you mental midgets relax, but wht wasn't Young decent in Tampa?

Get the tools to make the whole team better instead of dreaming of the next QB who mythically does it all by himself.

Also, I don't mind a black QB, but I think we need a lighter skinned one if we go in that direction.

We need better players across the board. I think that QB is one of those positions that we have the weakest talent.

Steve young developed slowlly with a HOF Coach, HOF QB ahead of him, and all world talent on Offense and defense.

I dont see any of the things Young had going for him (to include accuracy) going for Tebow.

Hopefully he improves.
