View Full Version : What Super Bowl Do you Want?

Medford Bronco

Please elaborate and why?

Pats vs Giants (2007 rematch)

Pats vs SF (defense vs Offense)

Ravens vs SF (brothers and old school type footall)

Ravens vs Giants (2000 Super Bowl rematch and a chance for Eli to win more Super Bowls than his brother Peyton in Peytons Home Stadium, also applies to option 1)

or who cares, Med is a moron and has no football knowledge and makes stupid polls when bored on MLK day) :salute:

Niners vs. Pats. I would love to see Alex Smith have a great game. I like it when experts get egg on their face. Plus Alex Smith was a big John Elway fan growing up so that's cool.

I want the Med is moron picked becuase that is what the wife says.

Just kidding. Thanks for the elaborations. I like the brothers as well because the defense will mean something still.

I'll take any Super Bowl where New England isn't involved. I am disenchanted with that part of the country right now.

I would love to see the Giants smash NE again. It would give the "lesser" little brother QB one more ring than Peyton (quelling that BS), and we can watch the Brady bunch fall .... again. :D

NE vs 49ers...I think that would be a good game.

I am looking forward to the Pats-Ravens game.

GO PATS! I do not care for Baltimore!

I'm torn on the NE/Baltimore game. Baltimore is local, but i've got so many friends/acquaintances that are patriot fans.

you think that Eli>Peyton?Mike and Mike were discussing this earlier today. They both said that statistically and regular season performance-wise, Eli will never be better than Peyton. But in and during the post-season, Eli has been the more successful and better QB, in performance, stats, and wins.

I thought their discussion and arguments were interesting, but not sure if I agree because unlike Med, I don't have time to do my own research at this time:laugh:

although I also enjoy those types of arguments, I don't think anything conclusively will ever be reached on such. Now for a fact, one could state that any qb on an NFL roster is > blank was, is, or ever will be. ah, you could tighten it up a bit I suppose, but you know what i mean

I love football, if I only cared about the Broncos the last few years of playoff football would have sucked and this year, one win and a beating is not so great either.

I loved the NFL before I became I bronco fan in the early 80s and will love the NFL till the day I die, so I love everything about the playoffs, the squares in the Super Bowl. Rooting for someone to win, enoying the best sport in the world. It is not all about the Broncos. Almost all but not all. :salute:

Ravens-Giants.

In a small way, I would love to see Eli Manning have more SB wins than Peyton.

He is a good QB and gotten so much better recently. I think they are one of the best 9-7 teams to play in the playoffs. Remind me of the Cardinals in 08

All the matchups seem good and I'll watch whichever one. I have my own silly reason for not wanting the 49ers but if they make it then it should be a hell of a game whoever they play.

I usually don't care either once the Broncos are eliminated but I always want the Pats or SD to lose if they are playing so this year I'm hoping the Pats play the Giants and lose to them again.

I'd love to see the 9ers and Patriots. The locals here have been in a SB dry spell for quite a while. The Patriots looking like a fiery 52 car pile up would be a bonus.

AFCCG....

NE 27
BALT 23
_______________

NFCCG......

NYG 22
SF 13

Again, I wouldn't mind seeing any matchup but these are my predicitions for today. I would like a defensive matchup in SF/Balt but I don't see a Har-Bowl in the future.

Should be some good games!

Ravens/49ers. Not that I have any love for either team, but it might put to bed that you absolutely must have a top 5 "elite" QB to win in today's NFL and you have to throw for 5000 yards a season to be competitive.

I get so tired of hearing that. No, you need a great "TEAM" to win in today's NFL...

Not to mention, both the Pats and Giants have won Superbowls in the past 10 years. If the Broncos can't be there, I typically back the team that hasn't in awhile or ever... unless of course it's an AFC West rival... I'll never pull for one of them to win a Championship no matter who they face.

That would make the NFL and all their rule changes geared towards flag football/arena football look dumb  I am all for it....

Casserly just reaffirmed what I predicted as far as penalties for roughing the passer because the Head Ref is basically trigger happy.

You mean Eli Manning:lol:

Listen, I dont hate Tom Brady at all, heck I wish he played for Denver and think he is one of the best that ever played. Its the whiny fans up here that suck. The arrogant, spoiled rotten, bandwagoners. or as WTE would know the "pink hats"

A "pink hat" is someone who became a Pats fan after 2001 and does not know who Steve Grogan or John Hannah is. They have no idea that the Pats came from the AFL and that the Dophins once beat them 20 straight times in the Orange Bowl and broke the jinx int the 1985 AFC Championship game.

Or that the Pats never won an overtime game until 1988 when the verable Tony Eason led them over the Tampa Bay Bucs with their puke uniforms on at Shaeffer Stadium or Sullvan Stadium 10-7 against Vinnie Inteceptaverde

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/198812110nwe.htm

That is sad that I remember these things. I did not cheat, trust me.

No hate for Brady either (I believe he's a great QB and fun to watch) but Ravens style of defense, i expect them to get to Brady and they won't play soft.

SF defense will do the same with Eli.
