from article:

At the team hotel Saturday night, Dawkins gathered the defense and gave an impassioned speech. Dawkins' words resonated, especially with the young players asked to replace him.

"It was very emotional. We knew that we had to show up for 'Dawk,' " rookie safety Quinton Carter said. "After his career, and with this injury, we wanted to give him a chance to come back and play with us."

Sounds like Dawkins is done. Great career, he will be hard to replace.

Said it during the bears game...he was one hit away all season. What a great career and the amazing things he has instilled in this team.

It sucks, because we FINALLY got him to the playoffs and he can't get on the field, even though we could REALLY use him next week. That's got to eat him up inside, but at this point I just hope he hasn't already done serious long term damage to himself. And that we can put up enough points and keep Brady off the field enough the horrible secondary we have in his absence doesn't get us killed next weekend.

Thanks for the memories, Dawk, and take good care of yourself. :salute:
