Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil had a resurgent season, returning to the Pro Bowl after missing all of last season with a torn pectoral muscle. He recorded 9 1/2 sacks, finishing strong while mentoring rookie standout outside linebacker Von Miller. Now, Dumervil is primed for the Broncos' AFC wild-card playoff game Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dumervil's crushing sack of New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady was one of the biggest hits of the season.

Dumervil led the NFL with 17 sacks two seasons ago.

Will the sacks in the playoffs count as his yearly total? Can't remember right now.

If so that would put him in double digets b/c I think he is going to have a big game Sunday.

Him and Von healthy next year...oh my lawd!!!

Regular season and post season stats are recorded separately.

Ok but will it show up in his total stats once the year is over?

My guess is no it won't. I don't think Brees will be able to add on to his 5400 yards nor will Dume be able to add on to his 9.5 sacks.

So if that's the case. He ended up with 9.5 sacks this year no matter what he does in the playoffs.

Yep. Because post season and regular season stats are separate, like I said.

other than the Brady one, most pedestrian sacks of his career. He basically got 8.5 "Ayers" sacks

The fan base was diluted when all of the Tebowners decided they would call themselves Broncos fans when Denver drafted him. As much as I'd like the kid to succeed, we could do without the Gator fan base.

He had at least one sack in seven or eight straight games.

Clip this makes no sense. He basically got 8.5 "Ayers" sacks? What the hell does that mean when Ayers hasn't even gotten into sniffing distance of 8.5 sacks and for first three years of his career he has count them 4.5 sacks. Dumervil on the other lead the freakin League in sack with basically no help '09. As rookie got 8.5 as a part timer and 12 the following season with no help. Pedestrian is an inaccurate description.
