View Full Version : Broncos to give fans orange towels on Sunday

Magnificent Seven

The Broncos will be handing out orange towels before Sunday’s playoff game against Pittsburgh, a way to help mitigate the Terrible Towel-waving Steelers’ fanbase that travels so well.

The orange towels, similar to the ones handed out at the Monday Night Football opener on Sept. 12, will be on each seat.

Those towels, however, will be the only orange around. The team will wear their normal home blue uniforms, but they will be back in white pants, instead of the blue pants they wore for the last four home games.

Lmao! Guess they are worried about the yellow towels being out there and the last time Pitt was there it was quite a few of them.

Vic talked about this last night on sports on cbs4 - his thought was that the orange towels would drown out the yellow towels.

I was thinking the same thing. If you can't eliminate the yellow towel, camouflage them! Brilliant!

Nah.. this isn't '96 when we were teh best team in football and had expectations to win. We are the worst team in the playoffs, and don't have HIGH hopes of coming out of this one victorious.

The yellow ones will get swallowed up by the orange ones. Which will of course make the dumb Steeler fans wish they had never brought their dumb yellow towels.

Not even the fans, they wish we never made it in playoffs from the sounds of people bitching.

I <3 you. It would be a lovely consolation prize for being in Denver during the game and having to watch it in the airport.

If anyone took home an extra towel and can spare one, I'd LOVE to get it. I've been an obsessive fan since I lived in Denver as a kid, but live in Chargers land now.

If you can, let me know. It'd mean a lot. This game takes me back to watching the 1998 Broncos.

I have some.

Didn't know you were going to game. What did you think? I thought for the most part the crowd did a great job of getting loud and causing some delay of games and other problems for Pitt.

What's your guess on Steelers fans? I'm guessing 5,000-7,000, maybe 10,000, but I don't think so.

Seemed like you could hear them a few times on the broadcast, but it sounded like the crowd did a great job drowning them out. We're getting a home field advantage again, and that's exciting.
