It was announced this morning that the Steelers returned 500 tickets. I just checked, and some of them are still available at ticketmaster.com. These are upper level seats and are $60 each.

I think all of these $60 returned tickets are gone, but there are 5000+ seats available on the NFL Ticket Exchange, with many, many seats just a few dollars above face value (NFL doesn't allow people to sell them at face value for some reason).

They can be sold on the Ticket Exchange. I think Broncos just did what they did when tickets went on sale after the lockout, they didn't allow any tickets to be listed on the exchange for 48 hours, to let the Broncos sell as many of their tickets as possible, first.

Seriously. I hate those convienient chargers. Makes me sick. Its more expensive than the ticket it seems

I ended up getting 90 dollar tickets though. i probably would have got 45 dollar tickets but I decided to go with my mom since we've never sat together before at a game and she doesn't do well with heights, so I got seats down low. :elefant:

Cant wait though. This week is going by too slow.

I don't disagree with you... But on the other hand, usually the people complaining about the away fans are the same people who are never buying a ticket to go to the game themselves. At some point we've gotta put our $$ where our mouth is or just deal with it.

My grandfather always got us tickets to the South Stands when I was a kid. I think it was in 1988 or so when we went to a game against the Steelers. A brave Steeler fan began to lift a terrible towel a few rows ahead of us and it was immediately snatched and thrown into the aisle. After a bried exchange of words that a 10 year old should not hear, his ass SAT DOWN.

Some season ticket holders piss me off to no end. My neighbor has two seperate pairs and just sells them off to friends (none of whom are Broncos fans, and some that don't even care for football and just like "people watching"). I drunkenly snapped at him after the Bears game because he was talking about how his Bears fan friend was upset at the outcome. He hasn't talked to me since. I was trying to get him to sell the rights to me, someone who would actually USE them.

Yep, not many locals are ponying up for the thousands of tickets on the Ticket Exchange for just a few bucks over face value. Not to mention, some of the non-official sites selling them for face value or below.

The world has changed. it used to be that you could only sell tickets face to face or by placing ads in local papers, penny saver rags, etc. That if you didn't know someone with tickets, then you had no opportunity to go to a game.

The internet changed all of that. It's good and bad. the good news is that people can now get tickets to games that are almost all sold to season ticket holders, the bad news is that opposing fans can as well.

A few weeks ago I was looking at the Packers on NFL Ticket Exchange. This was before they lost to KC, and they had over 2,500 tickets for sale by season ticket holders, when the Broncos only had about 500.

Like many other things in our daily lives, technology has forever changed how tickets are sold/resold at sporting events.

If that happened now, the snatching of the towel or the language, someone would text RESPECT at 52768 and in five minutes a couple folks from guest relations would come and warn or escort out, the person/people that did it.

The wussification of the NFL isn't only happening on the field.

I've bought probably 15 tickets to 7 games the last 5 seasons. Sorry it's not more than that, but I've put my $$ where my mouth is.

Is it really so hard to say Are you a Steelers fan? Yea, piss off. Are you a Broncos fan? Thanks for the $150 for the ticket!

We are in a recession and a lot of families are just starting to breathe after Christmas.

Back when the economy was better, Broncos, Nuggets and Rockies tickets sold out immediately for these kinds of things. I think the cost of tickets and the economy have a lot to do with the lower ticket sales.

That's easy for us to say when we're not putting up thousands of dollars for season tickets - that's my only point. I agree they ought to do their best to sell to Broncos fans, no doubt.

I sold my game 4 World Series tickets to BoSox fans because I needed the money and I didn't want to see them clinch on our field. Not my finest moment, but I can't judge anyone else for making a financial decision.

My point is if you can't afford it, then stop your season tickets. The waiting list is ridiculous.

Your dad is absolutely right - the area was the last section in the east stands, closest to the south stands. You would see a handful of visitor fans sitting in other seats in the stadium, which, more than likely Bronco season ticket holders sold their tickets to, but that definitely is not the case anymore. As I do not attend the games in the new stadium, and my son/dau-in-law use the tickets, many games my son tells me how many fans of the visiting team are there, but I have never ask him if there is a designated area where they sit, or if they are scattered all around.

i'm sorry T-Ned but security is really needed at these events. I never have been to a Broncos game in Denver:tsk:. Went to one in SD, I was all in Broncos garb with helmet and even matching shoes. The SD fans where respectful a couple of Pony's might have been directed my way but that was about it. Felt good to feel safe in that type of environment. I would like the opposing fans to feel good about going to Denver. I never want to be grouped with fans like the Raiders have. Nothing to be proud of IMO

No one should be snatching nothing out of your hands if it's your property. If we would go to Pitt I would like the same type of treatment as a visiting fan. Sure you can heckle the fan but when you start grabbing peoples property things can get out of hand real quick.

That's a fair point as well. Though I thought I heard the waiting list is a lot shorter than it was 5 years ago.

The number of people on the list is about the same as it was 6+ years ago, 28-30k (it was over 28,000 this summer). However, what's changed is that back in the late '90s and early 2000's, they had closed the waiting list, and the time was 13-15 years for people on the list to get tickets. Then, sometime in '04, '05 or '06, they opened the waiting list back up. The waiting list has turned over since '05/'06, with nearly everyone on the list getting a chance to buy tickets. Many of them say no when their spot comes up, and they are bumped to the back of the waiting list.

Over the last 8+ years, it seems pretty clear that both 'real' demand (those who buy when their name comes up) to purchase seasons tickets & retention of existing season ticket holders has dropped significantly.

i dished out over 3 grand for season tickets to have 4 seats to go to with my two sons and wife, many families dont do things like this anymore just turn on the kids xbox and say go play, i take time to go with my kids and travel over 3 hrs to get to games so i earn the right to sell to the highest bidder! I ended up selling them to some friends of my wifes who are good people and great bronco fans for face value so i wasnt out for the money or could have made some! If the denver broncos are willing to sell to steeler fans why the hell shouldnt I, if denver wanted to sell out and make money with the hometown commmunity they would have a 3 day local sale of tickets were they allow people to bid on remaining seats then sell to anyone!

Better yet, they wouldn't scare many people to sell on the Ticket Exchange, by saying it's the ONLY way you can sell tickets and not lose risking your seats if the person you sell to causes problems -- breaks the fan "code of conduct."

You also have to look at it from an economic standpoint. Ideally I'd like to say if I had tickets I'd never sell to an away fan but if a Steelers fan was offering me twice as much for tickets as any Bronco fan and I had some bills than needed to be paid, I'd be hardpressed not to sell to that guy. So while ideally no Broncos fan would sell their tickets to a Steelers fan, I don't think a fan who does deserves to be ostracized for it.

When the Broncos first put the remaining tickets on sale, they restricted who could buy the tickets, depending on where they lived.

On January 2, the Broncos began selling tickets online through Tickemaster to the January 8 Wild Card home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The sale was restricted only to purchasers with credit card billing addresses in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and western Kansas.

Not much more the Broncos could do - They have no idea if people living in the restricted areas are Pittsburgh fans - they have no idea if anyone purchasing tickets in the restricted areas, were only purchasing them only to scalp them.

Still nearly 4,000 tickets on the NFL Ticket Exchange, a lot a few bucks above face value (NFL doesn't allow them to be sold for face value). It's possible that Steeler fans already have their tickets, but there doesn't seem to be much interest by Broncos fans to come to the came.

Ticket prices are very reasonable.

I just checked and there is one pair at $45 a piece, and quite a few in the $50-65 range.

Looks like a lot of people thought they were going to turn a profit on the first playoff game in 6 years, and now find themselves dropping the price to recoup anything they can.
