good for a chuckle, but won't go down as a SNL classic.

SNL hasn't been funny since they lost Farley, Sandler, Myers, Ferrell, and co.

I haven't watched SNL in years. This skit reminded me why.

I remember when I was in high school and those guys were on the show...everyone used to always say "SNL hasn't been funny since they lost Chevy Chase, Akryod, Murray, Belushi and co".

Farley et al were destined for greatness. It was obvious. They had that "it" factor. Who in the past 5-10 years on SNL can you say that about?

No moar "'it' factor" please~!

that phrase has been forever ruined for me

It was cyclical. We had the Chevy Chase, Murray, Murphy golden age.

Then the Farley, Sandler, Myers golden age.

Then a min-golden age with Ferrell.

But since Ferrell there's been a lull.

It's cyclical, but with the advent of new media, the cycle might be broken. Talented writers and comics have more options than they did before. An SNL gig isn't as coveted as it once was. SNL may never recover.

I thought it was pretty damn funny. But that message, that Jesus or God influences Tebow's ability or the team's ability to win, goes to ALL sports. Seeing athletes pray or point to the sky after scoring has always rubbed me the wrong way. I totally understand praying before a game, asking that the players don't get injured, and even after a game (whether they won or not) thanking that the players didn't get injured, but even that's far fetched considering players still get injured. I'm not a religious person, but I understand why people pray. But to do so at professional sporting events, is kinda shallow if you ask me.

I used to like both casts especially Sandler and Farley days. I can't stay up past 9:30 - 10:00 anymore, so I haven't watched SNL in years.

Actually, I have the best sense of humor in the world.

However, I do not joke about idol worship.

It was okay for a rather sensitive subject. It's obviously not meant to be taken as doctrinal. Didn't like hearing that Jesus was going to miss the Patriots game because He had a big birthday celebration lined up. I did enjoy the cloud special effect. That was kinda cool.

I kinda get uncomfortable with Jesus skits, even on Family Guy and the Simpsons. Not really offensive though after that knee jerk reaction. On this particular skit, ahh, not all that funny. I noticed that I don't laugh at SNL that much in comparison when I am watching it with a group of people. Not really my cup o tea I guess. I have some favorites, like I though Al Frankin was funny when he did the I am good enough, I am smart enough thing. And I liked the Chris Farley show. but for the most part, it sucks.

Found this posted to my FB page. I laughed my ass off! Although part of me really wished Phil Hartman was still around to play God, that would have made it wayyy better!

The problem with this is that it just shows that Peyton Manning (a non SNL cast member) and a bunch of kids are funnier than the SNL cast).
Which sadly is true these days.

It was unfortunate that it got so much coverage. They even asked Elway if he saw it and he said he thought it was funny. Well, Elway was just being nice, because he had to know that it sucked. I love a good laugh, I was hoping it would be funny, but that skit was flat as all hell. Where'd they get those actors, off the street? Barrel of ******* monkeys. Grade:F-

One of two things. Either the very few of us who enjoyed the skit have a terrible sense of humor, or the abundance of us who didn't like this skit get too sensative when it comes to Tebow.

The only thing I know for sure, is "I" don't get butt sore when Tebow is criticized, but at the same time, I can recognize when he deserves kudos.

P.S. All of my friends in FB thought it was hilarious and a lot of them aren't even football fans.

I certainly wouldnt judge anyone for what they think of that skit. Doesnt make anybody a Tebow jock sniffer if they dont like it. Doesnt make anyone a dolt if they loved it. Different strokes is all. Nothing more than that. No big deal.

it would have been much funnier if that had managed to get Tebow to do a skit poking fun at himself(like Peyton did) Tebow as Merril Hoge would be hilarious
