...and ultimately of championships. If not, it won't be because of a lack of effort.
the naysayers all said he couldn't play in this league...well, that he could never run against guys in the NFL....well, that he could never throw against guys in this league...well, that he can't win multiple games in the nfl...well, that he'll never get to the playoffs ...yada, yada, yada.

Poor Tebow. Nobody beweived in him. :(

That was a good read. I almost saluted you, but I don't know where your comments are coming from, though, because that article was full of coaches saying he knew plenty of stuff and they had/have confidence in him. It doesn't always have to be about putting other people down to prop up Tebow.

Mo, should I remove my salute?

BTW, I did enjoy that read. It definitely says a lot about the kid - his preparation, work ethic and absolute love for the game. Nothing really new, just nice to see it in print from a non-Tebow nut-hanger.

Thats one of the best Tebow articles I have read, and I have read most of them.

Why would you remove your salute, Joe?

I actually didn't know he was reciting offensive schemes from various teams to their coaches at draft interviews. That's some great stuff there. And I like how he continues to talk about the game slowing down for him. He's talked about that a lot in press conferences, and even mentioned that when talking about Brady too. "The game is really slow for him" I believe was the exact quote.

anyone remember Casino's playoff guarantee thread three years ago. Please refrain from counting your chickens before they're hatched

Tim Tebow is the most talked about white Bronco since the OJ Simpson car chase

As the others have said, you have get into the playoffs before you can win a championship. Right now Denver isn't in the playoffs, they're in a great position to make it but they still have to close the deal FIRST.

That said I love the following quote and it even caused me to chuckle.

On Sunday, when the Broncos emerged from their deepest abyss yet in pulling out an overtime victory over the Chicago Bears, Gase walked up to Tebow on the sideline and said with a coach’s anxiety, “Why do we have to do it this way every time?” Tebow smiled tranquilly and said, “We have time.”

It doesn't always have to be about putting other people down to prop up Tebow.Hoge, McShay, Kiper, Alfred Williams, etc.

Oh, a classic line (paraphrased) by Alfred is..."yeah, yeah, he is a 'hard worker'. So what. This is the NFL; all guys here work 'hard'. That's an insult to everyone in the NFL."

All I say to that is "really"? There are a handful of guys (eg, P. Manning) who do work HARDER. Just look at the motto that Tebow has lived since he was a child: "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." How many other guys live that? Decker can't even get the guy to hang out since he's always preparing/training/practicing.

Al spoke of a time pre-OTAs (official ones) where he was hanging in Boulder. Gets a call from John Elway about going to AZ to work out. He mentions..."How could I NOT go when my QB is going?" The problem is that he fails to see the same logic around Tebow. Even Colquitt made a statement to that: "How could I give up when my QB (who's having a bad day) does not?"

This is the best thing in the article IMHO and the most desirable quality you could ask for in a player:

The phrase most often attributed to him is not about God but rather, “Tell me how I can get better.”

I am well aware of who his critics are. None of them are referenced in that article.

Oddly enough, the word 'Mo' appears 44 times in that article. Coincidence?

I thought this was a pretty good article about Tebow. Most Tebow articles are light on details, and heavy on will the "magic" end, can he keep winning, how does it happen, blah blah.

I liked to read about what he is doing to, as Tebow loves saying "Try to get better everyday". His work ethic seems to be everything we all hoped, and I am glad to read that specifically extends to film, and taking snaps from center etc. Alot of speculation went to him always working on sprints, weights, etc.

Interesting to read about how he straddles the line of being the publicly humble guy he is, but also the confidence that he has in himself, which helps him play in the 4th quarter during "Bronco Time".

The book, "The Edge", which is referred to in the article is an amazing book. I have had it for 20+ years. It was actually written by a wrestling coach. I just took this picture of it...lol.

“I definitely think you have to have an edge,” Tebow said this week as he stood outside the Broncos’ locker room. One of his favorite things to read is a book of quotations put together by a strength and conditioning coach he worked with that contains the words “The Edge” in the title. The coach loaned it to Tebow years ago and the quarterback refuses to return it despite pleas that he does.

i'm liking the tebow experiment, but i'm getting very BORED with the "his critics said he wouldn't succeed" trope.

we know what the critics said. we know what his fans said. we know what he said. enough, already. let's update the mythology when the broncos win a super bowl.

as for this thread, nice link to the article.

I am well aware of who his critics are. None of them are referenced in that article.Right. My initial soapbox had nothing to do with the article directly. It was to "set up" the article in debunking what the naysayers said/were all saying...and what Tebow has or will do as he has become the starter for our Denver Broncos.

I agree, every time I forced to click on an article about Tim Tebow or follow discussions about him in the forum that I chose to read and respond to, I throw up in my mouth.
