Simeon Rice to make a comeback.

Veteran DE Simeon Rice told Sirius NFL Radio's Movin' the Chains on Tuesday that he's planning a comeback. Rice hasn't played since the 2007 season.

Rice, who turns 35 next month, is coming back from shoulder problems that curtailed his once solid career.

The former first-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals out of the 2006 draft said his weight is up to about 255.

I'm sure he's not broke. He just wants to play and assure his spot in NFL history like most competitive people. His body didn't allow him the last couple of years. Who knows, maybe the 35 yr old still has some gas left in the tank.

He's running on fumes, while refusing to stop at the nearest gas station.

He'll break down after one game - if anyone is dumb enough to sign him. Hell, he'd probably not even make it out of training camp.

He can't be any worst than Jarvis Moss.

or Tim Crowder.

He's totally healthy for the first time in a long time and he wants to try and prove he can still play in the NFL. God forbid a man with a competitive nature want to continue to play the game he loves. I'm glad Bronco fans don't hold grudges...

Cutting him last year when those guys stayed on the team isn't evidence enough that he IS worse than Moss and Crowder?

Awesome! I hope we land him..

That guy is a classless blowhard!

What coach would be willing to bring him in, knowing Rice will blast him in the media for not getting to play?

Personally, I think he needs to maintain his place as a part of NFL history. He was a good (not great) player for a few years. He's been luckier than most. It's nearly impossible to come back at 35, he should just let it go.

I'm not even gonna get into this. Even if Crowder and Moss did beat out then a 34 yr old veteran with a bad shoulder among other injuries on skills alone, it does not say much at all.

Besides actual game play on the field. Crowder and Moss were very recent draft picks and very high ones at that so one can see why Moss and Crowder would be retained over a broke down vet. You know, the upside part of it all with contracts and bonuses already dished out.

I'm not saying Crowder and Moss didn't beat out Rice on skill alone, I'm just saying.

That's NOT a recommendation!

He already had his tryout in Denver and it lasted about 3 games. He did nothing, had nothing left. That was the year the Broncos desperately plugged in absolutely every FA stiff in North America, from Sam Adams to Jimmy Kennedy and NOTHING worked. Simeon Rice will NOT get another chance.

Once you're out for 2 years in the NFL at 35 years old, you're out. He might as well get used to retirement, because it's permanent. :coffee:

Well, he's clearly not going to make it back any more than Jerry Rice could in his short and pointless stint here.
