Who deserves it more than McGahee? When does such an award get awarded?

dont call it a comeback, he's been here for years

the NFL doesnt give the award, sports news outlets do it every year though.

Depnding on the stats at seasons end, Dumerville is more the type of story that gets CBPOTY award. McGahee was playing and scoring TDs last season. Just not as a featured back.

Usually a player that comes back from injury. I don't think you can just suck, and get the award. Not sure on that though.

No one will give Steve Smith an award. He's too much of a major a-hole for anyone to vote for him.

Probably right Rav. Not only that, but it's more to do about Newton than it is Smith.
However, he is having a good year unlike the last few.

That's what the "award" was supposed to be, but then they gave it to Drew Breeze or some nonsense. just for having a much improved season.

Check that. It was Flutie way back in 98 that I was thinking of. He had not been injured at all. Just had a good year in the NFL after playing in the CFL or something. Tommy Maddox got it the same way I believe.

I wouldn't call it the 'comeback' award for Stafford, more like 'it's about freaking time' award.

Give it to Mcgahee. He is playing like he did at Miami. Show that Fiesta Bowl gruesome video of his knee being bent, it is almost as grizzly as the Joe Theisman broken leg.

You can but usually you get it if you're an established veteran who fell off a bit.

Jon Kitna is the best example I can come up with.
