2009 Broncosforums NFL Draft?

Im going to pass an idea to you guys.

Last year the Mane had a little thing where they got members to participate in an all NFL draft where each member who participates drafts for each team this year. If anyone is interested just simply respond in this thread and it will be a first come first serve basis. And although i am running it (since i brought it up here) i will go ahead and do the Ravens and leave Denver to the first person to sign up. If there is not enough interest than we can scratch it but i know there is a lot of people here with great insight and knowledge and i think we could have a lot of fun doing it. Once we get everyone in i will post up how it works and how the unsigned draftees will take effect. So, put your name in and lets get this party started. :D

I will keep this post up to date with who gets what team. By the way, make sure you put what team you want to draft for when you sign up.

The reason we did that is we wanted to get started and toward getting started time had some guys say they'd take another team.
It worked real well until we got deep into the draft. We did all 7 rounds.

I dont have a problem with it as if we can only get a few people involved than we can go ahead and do that again including myself. I just want to see if we can get more people involved at this point and just want to know who Coach would favor out of the two in case someone wants one of those.

Thats fine, we can move it up to 2 teams per person. And i was planning on a 12 hour time limit but i will definitely get into that once we have our teams set. I will also be looking for 1 or 2 more people to help me out with it because obviously im not going to be on here 24/7. So i will need to try and get another person or two who might be on different times than me. But yea, any input you guys have please feel free.

Just need 2 more peeps to sign up to finish up the participants part of it. Once that is settled i will get with JCM and we will layout the rules and what not for how it will run. Right now, it will probably take place sometime after the Combine which i think gives people plenty of time to get themselves ready and allow some of the offseason transactions to take place. As always though, some of you guys have done this on this forum before or even if you havent feel free to shoot me some ideas in the next couple of weeks as too what you would like to see as far as "time" for drafting and so on. All input is welcome.

Absolutely. I think Lex is sometimes on later which would help out a lot considering im working fulltime again so aside from weekends i will have a small window during the weekdays. But hopefully JCM, Smilin, and Lex can or will want to give me a hand which is definitely welcome.

Something I was thinking about as well, hopefuly it is something where everyone is assumed to have maybe like at least 1-year left on the team. Because it can get crazy when people get released in real life then people think it is a free for all on mock drafts etc.. But rules are soon to follow.

We draft in the same order that the NFL teams do. For example, I have Denver so I pick for Denver at #12.
Once I pick my guy at 12, he comes off the board then whoever has the #13 pick is up. So on and so on.

You just need to look at what your teams needs are and draft accordingly.

No Problem, i am in the process of getting rules and stuff set up now and am talking it over with JCM and Smilin. The best thing for you to do now is do research and get a feel for what your teams needs are at certain positions. Yes, this is for fun but we do want to try and be as accurate as possible to what those teams might do draft wise. Doesnt mean you cant explain your stance with the picks you make but we dont want to go out and draft like 8 RB's (example) for one team. But im sure you get the gist of what we are trying to accomplish here. Once ive finalized the rules i will post a new thread on that so you guys can see how its going to work. That should be up in the next couple of days.

Hey, I remember on the freak, we used to do a mock draft within the board. 32 board members were assigned one team and we played GM for that team. We then did a mock draft just to see out it would play out if we ran the league. Anyone up for this?

We've alrady got one. We start after the combine. All the teams are taken already with most people havingmore than one team.

I have the Broncos and the Vikes.

Ok, remember. We are going to use this thread as the Draft Discussion thread. So we have one thread for the rules and any questions about it in there. This one for discussing the picks and anything else. And then we have one for the actual selections. So please dont post responses in the Draft Selection thread. Im going to try and get a mod to sticky the other two threads for us so that we dont have search all over the place for them.


P.S- I actually need a mod to move this over to the Draft Forum if they could for me. Thanks!
