Ah, if only I could, U29. That fateful thread was deleted by Tned. It is amongst the darkest and most dangerous secrets of the forums, arcane and deadly knowledge, such as might be found among the lunacy and eldritch horror known only to Cthulhu and the Elder Gods. You might find clues buried deep within the remote and long forgotten arhives at Miskatonic University - but nowhere else. The stories are that they are guarded by nameless horrors, the mere sight of which would send the strongest men into perpetual madness.

Or you could ask Tned to unlock the thread :D

Picture if you will a young man, QB for an NFL team from a Mountain West state, participating in a team blood drive as a gesture of goodwill and philanthropy. The football future for this young QB is not bright, for this young man is in fact Kyle Orton, but at this time, and in this place, he is the toast of the town, protege of a brilliant new coach who has this team at 6-0. Terrible days lie in the future, but for now Dame Fortuna smiles upon the lad.

At an internet football site devoted to this team a fevered discussion is begun by a member of said board, enraged that this QB was giving up his precious bodily fluids a mere five days before their next contest, when he clearly needed every single drop of said precious bodily fluids in order to lead his team to future triumphs. For this opinion he was roundly berated by his fellow fans and the entire thing ended up in a virtual furball which ended in permanent expusion for said fan.

Now as things have transpired, and in the light of hindsight, could Kyle Orton's loss of blood have indeed led to his downfall and to that of his protector and mentor? For as the Bard said, "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy"

I'm realy getting old, because I'm not sure what Dread's talking about. To quote Reagan, and mean it, I have no recollection of those events...

I would 'ppreciate that...(the thread title that is)---I tried searching for it to read through its glory, but for some reason beyond all imagination I was unable to correctly search it. Wouldnt you believe.

Oh yeah, now I remember....oh that was funny how selfish it was for Orton to donate blood. Who knew that would be only the beginning of so many, many like many other deep discussions(fights) to come..........................;)

I gazed into that black howling void last night, and emerged a shaken man. Tned wisely determined that for the sanity of all concerned and the preservation of our very souls that this horror must remain buried deep within the shadows. Some things that are forgotten are best never remembered.

It is for the best.

Why I have the great Bronco Warrior for my avatar. See my adopt a bronco for more from that thread. BW was by far the best thing for people thinking they were morons. His proof that there was always someone dumber.
