from article:

"There's not many teams, probably no teams, that do what we do, so you can't really watch film on it to see it," wide receiver Eric Decker said. "So it is all, kind of, just feeling it out and trying to coach one another."

The process started late last season, when McCoy and several other offensive assistant coaches, including running backs coach Eric Studesville and quarterbacks coach Adam Gase, began devising read-option plays for Tebow when he took over as starter for the final three games of the season.

They watched film of Tebow in college — he threw for 88 touchdowns and ran for 57 in his four years in Florida's spread-option offense. They watched tape of other college offenses as they scouted players before the 2011 draft and often wondered, "What would that look like in our playbook?"

Not sure how this could be a bad thing:

The Broncos now rank fifth in the NFL with 147.5 yards per game.

Good McCoy interview.

What's commical about the read option talk....is that we are now supposed to be an option team.

The read option is one play. That's it. It's one play that we happend to run 18 times. That's about 25% of the time. Why? Because it was working against the Fade. Tebow only ran it himself out of the read option 3 times.

We are hardly an option team. We may only run the read option 5-10 times agains the Chiefs. It all depends on what the other team gives you.

It's funny just how bad the press wants to call us something...they just don't have us figured out yet...and they desprately want to call us something.

I agree. That's like calling someone a run n shoot because they lined up with 4 receivers 25 percent of the time.

Very true. And let's face it. It's not as if McGahee hasn't been productive in the running game prior to this.

Not sure how this could be a bad thing:

they may be ranked 5th best in the league in yards but they are still about the 5th worst team in the nfl

well the record and the amount of close games they've played this year would say otherwise. Sure they got blown out by Green Bay and Detroit, but two of their three wins came against pretty good teams. Look the jury is still out on Tim but this team seems to have turned a corner and while definitely not a "good" team. They are a lot better than the likes of Miami and Indy.
