Here we go again, for some this game is already over even though it hasn't played yet. However, I tend not look at things that way because you just never know. So let's fire up the grill and root for beloved Broncos and hope they come out on top.

I love your enthusiasm TX, but I have that feeling that this will end up as SDs "rebound" game. Their greatest offensive weapon is their running game, the same thing that is our biggest weakness on defense. Their weakness on defense is their pass defense and our #1 receiving threat is on the shelf.

I've got a feeling LT is going for 200+ rushing and 3 TDs with just enough Gates splashed in to prevent us from putting all 11 in the box to stop him.

Oh well, C'mon Broncos - PROVE ME WRONG!!! :defense:

Well lets just see what happens and let thing unfold as they will. But at the same time lets not write it off as loss before the game has even been played.

I am looking forward to this game......divisional opponent at home. We need to win this game. Hope the coaches and the players are as fired up as I am and let's get this losing streak snapped and head into the bye in first place. Come on Broncos, show some aggression tomorrow.

Funny how one aspect, the rush defense, can bring the whole team down. In hidnsight, better to have a weak pass rush with Champ trying to make up for it (like last season), instead of a weak run defense. That way, only great passing teams like Indy and NE can take advantage of it. Then again, we'd still be toast in the playoffs. Hopefully, Bates and company fix this soon. Is Lynch active for this game?

Since our receiving corp is depleted with Javon likely out, I expect to see more 2 or even 3 tight end sets. Even more so if Henry is too injured to play much. That should allow for both better running, and more options passing. I didn't see Scheffler in the NFL depth chart, though.

TXBRONC

I think we'll see the two tight end set alot but I don't think we'll see the three set unless we're in goal to go.

The run D and specialy the special teams has been making me go crazy. I mean we have to have champ on special teams just so people don't get a touchdown on every kick off? He must have had 8 tackles in three games just on special teams alone. That is not a good thing. He should not have to play on special teams.

I really hope our Run D steps up and re-bounds this week against Lt and special teams against sproils. Pass rush has been a lot better but does not look nearly as good if we can put together a good run d up front because even if you have "The" best pass rush you will always be able to have a succesful time passing against it if you are able to establish the run and keep them off guard (Colts game).

We have a few holes on our team. We are in a big need for another DT, playmaker wide receiver, younger safteys, people step up on s-teams, OLB and LB depth... which also could be added to s-teams, CB depth for nickle and dime package which also could be added to s-teams, maybe running back... regardless if Henry comes back and does not get suspended, he has been limping off the field about 4-5 times a game.

We have a lot of holes but so does everyone else in the AFC west. I hope our D can get more on the same page in bates system and again Rebounds this game for us... This will be huge and will be able to go into our bye with a lot of confidence.

Go Broncos! :salute:

I've been on vacation the last 5 days and am hitting the road for home in the next hour or so (about an 11 hour drive), so I won't be in the game day thread this week.

Hope everyone keeps it positive, and by that I mean that I hope the Broncos play well enough that everyone can have a great time and stay positive. I'll watch the game on the DVR when I get home tonight, probably aroun 6:00.

Enjoy the game!!

If only the Broncos could play as the Rockies have had the past month.

But I guess that's too much to ask for. I see a Denver 21-13 win, but it'll be uglier than Simon Cowell at a kindergarten music recital.

Sports hasn't gone too well for me today.

Lewis Hamilton's pit lane error. (Formula One)

Arsenal winning 2-0 against Sunderland and then letting Sunderland come back 2-2, we eventually won but we should have beaten them easily. For the yanks I'll translate it, it would be like beating the Dolphins 38-35, a win but not a good enough win. ( The "other" kind of Football)

Let's hope this game goes better for me.

In all fairness I think Turner could be starting for most teams. He's a solid RB IMO, though unproven to carry a full load yet.

Still, what a pathetic showing through the first half. The Broncos have got to get things together. Bad play calling at times. That run by Turner not only was on the players, but the coaching staff for not staying with an honest D.

I think this is the worst Bronco defense since Shanny was the coach.

This team sucks now. its called reality. we can love them and still be critical.

I expect more out of the Broncos. I see a 6-10 season and maybe 5-11.

for all those who were telling me 10-6
they need to see reality. this is not a good team.

this game today was so easy to call. you could sense it. at least I could

this is the worst I have felt as a bronco fan since 1992 when they were 5-11. Elways worst w l record in his career

I wonder how Bailey feels, having his talents wasted in Denver. Teams don't even have to throw in his direction.

The best cover CB in the game, and Denver can't even utilize it.

I personally think we should trade him for some young talent and draft picks, because I don't see Denver all of a sudden being a juggernaut in the next 3-5 years, which is his window of domination.

Well... This is the official first time I left the sports bar. Our players are a mess and can't even hold onto the ball (which shows how light we are at the wide reciever position)... Still have to hold my breath during special teams and deffense... Bates hasn't solved the defensive woes, and it's hurting the other aspects of the team, making them play much more desperate. We'll make all the teams look like the New England Patriots on offense.

I hope they can fix this defense through the bye week. Just a slightly below average run defense would be fine. :D

And that 71 yard run to was just the ! on what we are.

Its sad to see this team fall apart like this, but this is what we are this year.

Time for some changes im affraid.

Dinger thanks for the attempt, but its painful to watch this offense not score.

Bates, its not all on you, what you have to work with is just pitiful.

Shanny, the rest of the NFL has caught up, time to go back to the drawing board and fix the ills.

Jay, stop being so consistant. By consistant, im refering to 9 games played, 9 ints.

Dline, you all need to worry about where you are going to play next year. Or if you should even be allowed on an NFL field of play ever again. Shameful

Prediction, Champ Bailey will seek a trade. Cant blame the guy, he wants to win.

Okay, rant over. Im feeling quite upset over this game and the way this season has started. Maybe im over reacting, or maybe im partialy correct.

Defense has been on the field all day - nothing from the offense.

It started rough with the first fumble; I think that eventually led to an SD score.

The offense has moved the ball well when they had the chance, but key mistakes on potential big plays were costly; the Marshall fumble that prevented Denver from scoring, and SD scored instead; those are point swings, because they not only limit our scoring, but increase SD's scoring for a bigger margin. The missed catch by Selvin Young that could've led to a 1st down or even a touchdown instead of the eventual field goal.

That's where the value of a Javon Walker or Rod Smith is missed. They won't fumble the ball, and they won't make rookie-type mistakes that hurt not only scoring, but momentum.

But the consistent thing is that the defense could hardly stop San Diego. When San Diego is able to put up 20 points in the 1st half alone, that puts tremendous amount of pressure on the offense to hurry up and score points. Then San Diego needs 33 yards to get a first down, and the defense allows them a 1st down. Then they score. When the team knows that the defense can't stop the opponent, the offense becomes more desperate and predictable, and more risks are taken because there's a need to score points fast. Then more mistakes happen.

The underlying problem is the defense, plain and simple. The special teams play is a nuisance, but not a back-breaker. The defense is bringing the whole team down. Fix the defense and this team is a contender.

this is pathetic.

I've been a Bronco fan since 1977. We couldn't field a complete team in many of those years, but I felt we could always count on our defense. What I'm seeing today is incompetence and a lack of heart. It's a shame.

But we have too much of a winning tradition to let this season collapse, in my opinion.

Things to work on in the bye week, short of trading 25 players:

Dumb down the offense as if Jake Plummer were playing. Short passes, three tight end sets, ball control. To me it looks like Jay Cutler's confidence far surpasses his abilities right now, so let's scale it back a bit and give him a chance.

Defense - With Bailey and Bly injured and a bit gimpy, I'm not sure what to do. Hopefully in two weeks they will be back. I'd bench Gold, move DJ to weak side and play Webster in the middle. Also I think we need to blitz a whole lot more.

Man, this game was a total joke. We had no right being out there on the field if we can't even hold on to the ball. We will be lucky to win a couple more games. I was speechless the whole game and knew it was over when we fumbled the ball on a kickoff to make it 14-0. At least now we can hope to get a high draft pick.:mad:

Right now it does look like we are headed to front of the line.

Can't real bring myself to read the posts in this thread or the other threads about the game. After driving 11 hours and rushing in the house to fire up the DVR, I didn't even watch the 3rd quarter. It has been a VERY long time since I didn't finish watching a Broncos game. I actually can't remember the last time.

I still remain optimistic that the team will turn things around, but this was very discouraging. The fumbles, the big SD plays, the INT. Very discouraging. I just hope the Cowboys lose, because otherwise I won't be able to deal with the Cowboy fans at work when I go back in on Tuesday with them 5-0 and the Broncos 2-3. :(

This game reminded me of that raider game with Rich Gannon throwing 20 something straight completed passes.

Make sure you don't venture over to the thread about Marshall calling out the Bronco fans.

Hahahahahaaa That's pretty funny....we always knew Tned was a fairweather fan. :D ;)

But we as fans have been pretty lucky with the Broncos over the last 25 years...we haven't really had too many down years....except for maybe 1994 (or '95, when the raiders crushed us at home with Hostetler at QB), and 1999.

1994 also 1992 sucked as well with being 5-11

this team feels like that one from 92:tsk:
