I have had a tough time digesting all this,

But I think the future for the Broncos should model the Colts.

They were a great offensive team,

But a lousy defense.

So they hired Dungy, (defensive coach)

What did Dungy do ?

HE LEFT THE OFFENSE IN PLACE !!

The more I think about this, the more I want Jim Johnson.

He is as good as it gets on the defensive side of the ball.

He gets better in December.

Smart enough to leave the offensive side of the ball alone.

Look, I don't like what happened, but...whats done is done.

We need to fix the defense.

We need to leave the offense alone.

I'm not so high on Jim Johnson. I'd rather see a guy like Garrett, Spag, or Cowher. We'll see. I think we'll learn a lot about our team's future in about 10 minutes.

I have no problem with Cowher either,

But,

He really doesn't seem like he wants to coach right now.

Cower wants full power and big $$$. He's a stud but we can do just as good or better going another direction.

Jimmy Johnson entered my mind, too. Did you know he was involved in the
origination of the point system, as applied to draft choices? His Dallas
Cowboys accelerated from doormat to Champions at an unbelievable rate.
He didn't get along with Jerry Jones, but Pat Bowlen is not Jerry Jones.

Is it just me or does the departure of Shanny not bother you as much, as knowing he is going to coach another team next year?

Its like breaking up with your GF cause shes not getting it done, then getting upset because you know she will just find another dude as easy as she got you.

Shannahan's dissmissal hinderes Cowhers pay Day.

Why?

Just pretend Mike screwed up in free agency again and cost our owner a few more millions per year. At least this money doesn't affect our salary cap, it's just the price of doing business.

Selling a few more tickets or hosting a playoff game cleans the slate as far as revenue goes. No sense getting cheap now.

$20, 000, 000 is a lot of tickets when yhey are already "sold" out for every game.

A playoff game seats 77,000ish people.

20 million bucks / 77,000 tickets = 260 bucks a ticket that would be needed to make back Mike's salary.

So it's not all coming back from one home playoff game, especially the way that revenue is actually divided.

But it's still an investment. Bowlen already decided to eat money in order to let Shanahan go. Firing him and then going cheap on his replacement because you fired him in the first place is something loser franchises do.

Winners chalk it up to the price of doing business and move on.
