The Broncos filled their roster vacancy left by the trade of WR Brandon Lloyd by signing S Rafael Bush off Atlanta's practice squad. Executive VP John Elway noted in his weekly podcast that the signing came in part due to Denver's defense being "a little bit light." The team also has been without S Brian Dawkins at practice since he hurt his neck Oct. 9 vs. San Diego

I think the Broncos have something against their own practice squad.....not calling up Eron Riley and now, not calling up Kyle McCarthy. Hmm.....

I don't think McCarthy is NFL ready in pass coverage. Most of his highlights in the preseason came on safety blitzes and stuffing runners but we need someone who can cover big time receivers and Tight Ends. Fox and Allen are defensive guys so I'll trust their judgement here.

Also, the reason we haven't called up Riley is because we did not need to. We signed Cosby mostly as a return specialist to keep Decker off returns and not as a receiver. Riley will be up before the end of the year as McCoy realizes that Tebow operates better in a shotgun, spread, 4-5 WR look and starts reusing some of the McPlaybook.
