From Denver Broncos.com inside the numbers

7 Against San Diego, QB Tim Tebow scored his seventh career rushing touchdown. His seven rushing touchdowns rank second among all NFL quarterbacks since the start of the 2010 season, trailing only Eagles QB Michael Vick, who has nine.

84.2 Tebow’s 84.2 career passer rating is the highest among quarterbacks who entered the league in 2010.

Tebow finished with 18 standard Fantasy points in a half of play, which was more than Andy Dalton, Tom Brady and Ryan Fitzpatrick had in four quarters. Where does that put Tebow on the Fantasy spectrum? Well, he certainly makes for an intriguing Fantasy add off waivers because he can run the ball effectively, much like fellow scramblers Michael Vick and Cam Newton.

Does fantasy football have a new savior?

Week 5 is nearly in the books, and we got the return of some big-named players, while some Internet darlings failed to deliver. Here is a look at the top storylines of the week.

Tebow Time
Broncos fans rejoice, Tim Tebow is finally the starting quarterback - or at least many of those close to the situation believe that Tebow will be given the gig. Or just listen to John Fox's postgame interview, he is basically saying it without saying it.

And that's good for the fans who have clamored for Tebow's insertion into the starting lineup. But this news is bad for anybody who has been leaning on Eric Decker for fantasy points, because this is going to nuke his value. Not only does Tebow limit the passing game, he becomes his own goal-line vulture, too, taking some chances away from Willis McGahee. On the upshot, if you have been struggling for a quarterback this year, give Tebow a chance.

The Lions are playing in a big game on Monday night -- yeah, let that sink in for a moment. So far, 2011 has been a year of change, and there was no bigger example of that than Week 5. The Raiders took the field without Al Davis looking over them for the first time in most of our lifetimes. And there might be a new football messiah on the horizon, too, in Denver.

With that in mind, here are the six biggest tending topics in the NFL following an outstanding Sunday.

And without further ado …

You got your wish Denver, Tim Tebow is likely your starting quarterback and what a difference he made. Tebow was simply awesome in leading the Broncos to a come-from-behind victory over the Chargers. Wait, what? The Broncos lost? Oh, I had no idea looking at all of the highlight packages.

Tim Tebow mystique: How similar it is to Joe Namaths

Colorado's team leadership originally felt the same way, bringing the young Florida college player on board in a showy display, much like was done with Joe Namath back in '65. But Tim Tebow's detractors and skeptics have since lamented he isn't a one man show like others thought and that he should learn how to give the ball away in passes instead of using his legs all the time. They could have said the same thing about Joe Namath, who would go on to lead the NY Jets to their NFL Super Bowl win.

"I've been a Tebow skeptic,' David Ramsey, a sports writer at The Gazette said, 'He's been overly in love with his legs at the expense of his arm." But Ramsey was also quick to acknowledge after the game yesterday that Tebow's showing on Sunday impressed him because Tebow was attempting to pass more, even if the team still took a loss because of it.

But Tebow is like Joe Namath, his strength doesn't lie in falling into the expected routine of sports writers, coaches or others. Joe Namath didn't take the NY Jets to the Super Bowl win on his passes, which saw a completion rate of only 17 out of 28. Namath took them to their win because he knew to trust his instincts on when to run and when to throw.

Tim Tebow's strength lies in the exact same direction. Tebow will win more easily when he doesn't second guess his play on the field due to what coaches and sports writers want. And when Tebow's teammates don't see him as a threat, and readily begin to trust his judgment about when he should pass and when he should run for it, the Denver Bronchos will become the team to beat.

To that end, The Gazette reported that Tebow deflected attempts by the media Sunday to make him the team superstar when they asked him if the Bronchos was now "his team."

"I don't think it is anybody's team," Tebow said.

Joe Namath had the respect of his teammates. They trusted his instincts and he took them to a Super Bowl win. Tim Tebow's teammates have to be willing to be as loyal to the quarterback leading them on the field today as they were the one yesterday. Otherwise, Tebow's draft isn't going to have the desired effect afterall. And we know Denver wants a Super Bowl win too, right?
