So we beat a bad (ok really bad team), but a win was a win and that is one in the good category, so GO BRONCOS!!!!

but practice, and two games have left the damn team looking like a MASH unit.

I mean, come on T2 was in at emergency WR for gods sake!

so what's teh over under on how many folks we sign this week?

2 or 3?

if only Tebow was a free agent, we could sign him!

The topic is FA's the Broncos could sign this week. Not someone's mom, not menstrual bullshit and not other posters. Take the crap to the lounge and keep it out of Broncos Talk.

I really think Brandon Stokley would be a good pickup at this point. If nothing else he can catch the football and knows the system to some degree.

FAWRs are thin, very thin. TO is hurt, Moss is retired, Housh is out there...

I hope Decker is the #2 now, and when Royal gets back he moves to the #3, where he belongs.

Sign Riley off the Practice Squad and rattle the trees for another DT and/or CB. Three total.

if the WR FA field is thin that is one thing

but we had T2 out there as a place holder this game, there has to be some other options of folks that are actually WR

running routes etc

Steve Largent!!

that may be an option with our current IR rate at the WR position

I know Moss is not an option, he will only go back to NE

I think the end result is a net zero.

Seems like every season we get decimated with injuries.

John Elway was on the ticket this morning. He stated that they knew Saturday that Knowshon would not play, and they brought up a RB. He also stated that TT had practiced as a WR during the week - "just in case". John stated that the feeling all along was that Lloyd could play Sunday, so they did NOT want to activate a receiver - "just in case", as that meant they would have to CUT a player. John also addressed them bringing in players this week to try out. I posted the following in another thread in case anyone would like to hear everything John said this morning.

If we sign 3, who are we cutting/IR'ing?

If Royal is on IR, then Riley can be signed from the practice squad. Did we sign another player when Warren went on IR? Not sure what to do about CB. Hopefully Champ is back next game so Vaughn can stay off the field.

Vaughn will be ok. It take a lot of time for a yound CB.

Football executive John Elway said on his radio show Monday that the Broncos chose to promote a running back from their practice squad Saturday rather than a wide receiver because Lloyd had practiced Friday for the first time since getting hurt in the opener and seemed OK.

He wasn't by Sunday morning, and when Eddie Royal (groin) was hurt, they were down to two receivers: Eric Decker, making his first career start, and Matt Willis, who has just one start in his four NFL seasons.

"We thought Brandon was going to be OK. It was quite the surprise to us -- and I'm sure to him, too -- that it wasn't feeling very well on Sunday afternoon," Elway said on his radio show on 102.3 The Ticket in Denver.

Elway said the Broncos chose to promote running back Jeremiah Johnson from their practice squad instead of wide receiver Eron Riley on Saturday because it became clear that tailback Knowshon Moreno (hamstring) wouldn't play after missing practice all week.

Lloyd, on the other hand, practiced Friday before coach John Fox told him to back off halfway through the workout as a precaution.

so it seems like they have someone from the prac squad in the wings if the WR position needs someone this week

man you would think they could pick up someone

Who do you want them to sign Lugnut?

Obviously not you know who.

I am quite sure they could pick up someone - however, unless Royal or Moreno is put on IR, if a player is picked up, a player needs to be cut.

Goodwin and Riley are both WRs on the Broncos Practice Squad.

Vaughn wasn't actually that bad IMO. Most of the passes were going the other way. He only really screwed up two plays that I noticed, otherwise he was all right. Looked at least as good as Goodman, who is making far more dough.

Problem with Champ being out is it makes Wilhite very valuable, but he didn't suck either. It's not our coverage guys I'm worried about, honestly. Without Champ they're not great, but they can run and tackle and play fast.

Vaughn made some solid plays. I thought the lack of Doom was pretty significant, though. Made our pass rush one-dimensional (Von-dimensional?). As long as they put a hat on Ayers he was a non-factor - thank God for them forgetting him at a crucial time.

If we can rush the passer, the coverage guys can hang in there - if not they'll just be hung out to dry.

Well, Goodman can't tackle. But other than that, I agree.

The DP says Royal and Thomas are out for two weeks minimum. Maybe the Broncos will sign Riley from the PS and give Green playing time this weekend versus the Titans? With Lloyd coming off injury we need more than Decker and Willis on the roster.

key there being MINIMUM

that was what worried me, I didn't see the game but followed the thread so hearing that it looked like a groin pull and looked bad on top of that (not sure what a good groin pull would look like though)

but clearly we need to have some depth at the WR position and we got two out and a third that looked like he was good to go, but couldn't go on game day - that is the questionmark now

can Lloyd be 100% at game time this week so that he can go all game long, or is he only going to be 70% and there is a chance he can't go all game

I guess with what we have on the practice squad already, one of those guys is going to get their chance

I just don't like seeing T2 out there at WR or Slot - no one thinks he's out there to really catch a pass and it's like throwing an olineman out there, cause all he's going to do is block.

JJ doesn't have a spot right now. Knowshon has the 3rd string RB on lock down.
