i think we should save him for the playoffs unless he's sure he's not going to reinjur himself. week 17 at the earliest if we somehow drop games to car and buf.

but i have no idea.. he said that he was going to play last week, but then backed out of his statement as the game approached, so hopefully he'll be ready soon.

Shanahan said cornerback Champ Bailey (groin) will practice Saturday to determine his availability for Sunday's game.

He was supposed to come back for the Atlanta game. Every week has been a gametime decision and every wee he has been inactive. The guys replacing him have been playing great, so I'm guessing they don't want to rush him back and risk him furthering the injury (like Selvin did coming back too early).

This may be a dumb question, but is he capable of playing safety.

He needs his reps. Get him in there asap.

Hell yeah. That'd be awesome.

I'd rather have the guy sit instead of playing even a little hurt and being a liability. I'm sure the guy wants to play so if he isn't then there is probably a good reason. If we can somehow through a win or sd loss clinch, let him sit on the bench and get as close to 100% for the playoffs. Our team is far from one guy on "D" away from being good. We've made it this far let's see if we can squeak out another one without him.

He will be testing his groin this Saturday to determine if he is a go for the Panthers game. I believe DJ Williams says he is ready to play! Two studs back in to stop the yardage adding up/ Hoping Young is ready to continue his quest for 2000 yards also.

I think he'll be back for Buffalo, then resting against the Chargers.

part of me wants him back to neutralize steve smith, but if he's not truly ready, keep him out.

Absolutely, I would really like to have Champ back for this game but only if is ready to go.

Sounds as though Champ has had some set backs with his injury and probably won't play this week either.

I think that we're not rushing him back and we want him to be for sure 100%, knowing that we only have to get one more win to clinch the division.
