Looks like the Falcons will do OK with Joey at the helm.

He played well tonight, had touch and accuracy on his passes, and looked to have earned the leadership role on offense.

It will be pretty ironic if he steps in and leads them to a good season.

No kidding. That would be something else.

After all the crap he got about not getting it done in Detroit, I hope he has a good year.

Perhaps they will not miss vick all that much when they find out what a QB is supposed to do.

It's the manly colours.

After Hawaiian Blue and Silver, then Turquoise and Orange, he was losing his manhood!

Wussy team colours will do that to you. Also, playing for the Lion's doesn't make many folks look like men!

He has always had the talent...same with Carr..IMHO

Thats what happens when you play for two expansion teams...(texans and detroit..lol)

Give these two solid offensive lines and good NFL coaching and they will do good.

I hope Joey can keep playing well. That team and city needs a leader right now. I sure wouldn't want to be him though. :(

Boy, that's the truth.

They did the same pathetic job in our game against SF because of the Bill Walsh thing.

Report the freakin' game!!

[/rant]

Back on topic, Joey really looked good. I thought he was comfortable in the pocket, and it looks like he has some support around him.

I hope he does well.

From everything I've read about him, he's a passionate player.

All those years in Detroit, and never a bad word said about his teammates/coaches/admin.

Funny. I was thinking the same thing when I saw the picture.

Dancing with the Stars or NFL? :)

Harrington did well in that game but I think a lot of that was because he was able to stay in the pocket and have time to throw the ball. The couple instances were I saw him flushed from the pocket and he was like a deer in the headlights.

I hope he does well. When he was at Oregon across the river from here my buddy used to really hype him up. He was expected to do great things in the NFL. Maybe he will finally get that opportunity in Atlanta.

Look back at some of his preseason games from years gone by.....

...and you might see a common thread..... ;)

He's GREAT when the game doesn't count.

But I too hope he excels. He deserves a break.

Exactly!

Look at Albert Belle. He was a pansy his first couple years in baseball. Why? He went by Joey Belle. Then, a couple years into his pro career he wanted to be known as Albert. All the sudden he was the meanest SOB to play since....Ty Cobb.
