View Full Version : Is countdown clock accurate in your timezone?

Tned

Hey guys, I need some help. I had to replace the previous countdown clock code due to some problems. I can test it from the Central time zone, but not elsewhere.

If you are in the Eastern, Mountain or Pacific time zones, can you confirm that this is counting down to 10:00 Eastern time?

I'm in Eastern, but the clock seems to be counting for Central.

Tned

Right now, it should say approximately 1 day, 8 hours, regardless of the time zone, since it's a 10:00 EDT game, if I'm figuring things right.

one day 7 hours on my end.

Does it have a setting for Standard and Daylight? maybe that could be it?

This is probably a dumb question, and I'm sure there's a logical reason. ..

But, why does the time zone matter? If you set the countdown to display the days/hours/minutes until kickoff, that readout will be the same for everyone, even if they are in a different time zone.

The game starts at the same time everywhere. .. we just adjust our clocks for the time zone.

Correct. However, I think the functions that he used to create the countdown logic must be time zone aware, rather than just counting down to a UTC time, which is needed to remove timezone from the equation.

My husbands computer upstairs is the newest that he uses it for development, it is on MST and has the right time, lap top is right have touched nothing on it and it's still in Pac. Well, if you need any help, it's one of the things I do at work. I'm a genius with presentations, and actually do a lot of custom graphics, typically related to systems or logistics flow, but also sometimes process validation and stuff.

In fact, I quite often decide to make my own graphics, rather than relying on the slow to produce, low quality graphics department.

Here's one I made a while back to show our shipping/logistics flow.
