There's never a good time for injuries, but if a starter is going to tweak something, best to just get it out of the way now.

Head coach John Fox said defensive end Elvis Dumervil felt a twinge in his groin muscle early in Tuesday's practice, and safety Brian Dawkins was pulled out the practice after getting his neck twisted under a pile of linemen.

The team's starters are not expected to play much, if at all, in Thursday's preseason finale at Arizona.

someone needs to call a priest to cast out the injury demon that has been lingering around denver for the last 6 years.

maybe we should sacrifice jake plummer, just to be sure it's not his malignant spirit. . . .

I believe it's much worse, I think it's time that maybe Rich Tuten steps down...he was at one time one of the best, but recently we've just had too many issues and he's been doing this for a long, long time.

This. Too many pulls for my liking. I think that the finger is pointing at Tuten.

We don't ever have any more/less injuries than the average NFL team over the last few years.

I have thought the same thing for the last few years. :tsk:

Fox: How you feeling Elvis?
Dumervil: Great, feeling good, it's so nice to be back on the field.
Fox: You mean you tweaked your groin muscle today.
Dumervil: No, I feel great, what are you talking about?
Fox: You tweaked your groin muscle today.
Dumervil: I did?
Fox: Yes.

That is a possibility, it might just seem more severe from our perspective. Even with all of Goodell's new rules, the injury rate in the NFL has climbed exponentially, in fact because players are limited on hits above the waist they're trying to learn to hit below it, which will eventually lead to more leg, knee and foot injuries then ever before, not to mention that it could lead to a rise in lower back and hip injuries as well.

Hopefully Dummy will be good to go soon. And Dawkins too.

I bet they are both in the starting line up against the Raiders in season opener.

I was just thinking that a twinge in the groin for someone like Top is good sign that the Viagra is working. :D

that's weird because I was thinking about Top's groin earlier

Groin agitation can be problematic. Hopefully the staff will manage this properly so there isn't progressive damage or reoccurrence. I would think that taping Dawkins neck would be sufficient to get him back into action.

Tape? Just rub a little dirt on it and it'll be just fine.

if it were me, I'd tape that neck so tight and send him back out.
