According to three NFL sources, Marcus Thomas, one of the Broncos' two starting defensive tackles, will miss the rest of the preseason with a strained pectoral muscle. There is hope Thomas will be ready to play in the regular-season opener Sept. 12 against the Oakland Raiders.

Great. Down to possibly just Bunkley and Vickerson for week 1. I hope we go out and sign Tank Johnson.

On the bright side it's a tare which would probably mean he would end up on I.R.

Might want to mention the tear was to Ty Warren not Marcus Thomas. The article also mentioned they're hoping to avoid surgery and re-evaluate in 4 to 6 weeks. That means we're keeping a wounded duck on the roster till at least wee 2 or 4 before deciding to put him on IR or not? Must be pretty bad pickin's for DTs out there. :(

Is it just me or does it seem like this happens to us EVERY year during Preseason now...?

No, it's not just you. Let's hope Thomas doesn't miss much time. Bunckley was probably our best choice at NT anyway.

I knew Denver having a pretty good DT rotation was too good to be true

I was just listening to Fox's interview post-practice this morning and it seems more guys keep getting nicked up.

Decker hurt his foot today during practice (wasn't it a foot injury - lis franc - that caused him to miss his whole senior year as a Gopher?). Didn't say how bad. There are a decent amount of dudes on the walking wounded list now, though.

Everyone knew this was going to happen with no OTA.

yeah it was Decker's foot. They say it is precautionary though, so hopefully it's nothing
