This is the big college in the town I live in. Pretty cool to see that on Yahoo. The stats are completely mind bottling.

ABILENE, Texas (AP)—Abilene Christian set a record for points in an NCAA playoff game, beating West Texas A&M 93-68 in the second round of the Division II playoffs Saturday.

Bernard Scott rushed for 292 yards and scored seven touchdowns, both playoff records.

The combined 161 points was an NCAA Division II record.

Abilene Christian (11-0) gained 810 yards of offense and scored touchdowns on 13 of 14 possessions. The only time the Wildcats didn’t come away with points was on their second possession, when they missed a field goal attempt. The teams combined for 1,531 yards, also an NCAA Divison II record.

Keith Null, who completed 42 of 63 passes, set a school record by throwing for 595 yards and seven touchdowns in the loss for West Texas A&M (11-2), which was eliminated despite gaining 721 yards. Buffaloes receiver Charly Martin caught 14 passes for 323 yards and scored five times.

Abilene Christian, which will host Northwest Missouri State next Saturday, led 42-34 at halftime.

Billy Malone threw for 383 yards and six touchdowns, and Johnny Knox caught five passes for 125 yards for the Wildcats.

Scott had 19 carries and rushed for six touchdowns and added another score receiving.

My buddy Landis that I meet at the bar on Sundays to watch the Broncos games invited me to go, but I had other plans last night so I didn't go. Now I wish I would have. That would've been all kinds of exciting to watch.

:(

My alma-mater scored 68 points in a playoff game. . ..and lost by almost 30.

Ugh!

NJ10 who posts here was at the game with his girlfriend. .. he wasn't very happy. . .then Texas Tech (his D1 favorite team) got whipped in Norman. Pretty bad day I would guess all around. Not much defense being played by either team.

Yeah, NJ txted me with that score last night pretty unbelievable. My alma mater, Chadron State, beat Abilene Christian 76-73 last year in the playoffs...after a massive comeback...can't remember the exact score, but Abilene was up huge.

It's cool that ACU won. Sorry for NJ. I know he mentioned to me he'd be in town if his team won last weekend. So I guess he came here and got smashed and went home upset. Sorry bro.

A lot of my friends from high school went to ACU. Pretty crazy stuff. Like basketball on turf.

ACU is a really good school from what I've gathered. They also have a really good baseball program.

Once again, the MIAA comes down to mop up the Texas no defense D2 schools.

NW Mo drops ACU.

The conference better pray that they rearrange the Super Regionals or they will never get to a NC game.

Yeah, that is all they were talking about on sports talk radio here.

Not sure what record it is but the true record for one footbal team beating another is 222 - 0. That comes from a big book of sports trivia my dad used to have. But that was also when teams were really not that good way back in the day.

PEACE!!!

Yeah. It is dominating the national sports scene.

I mean, an NCAA sanctioned football division actually settling it on the field so puff and pastry nationally ranked teams can get their teeth kicked in instead of floating into the NC game.

Back when I was purely single and used to go out all the time, it seemed like the freakiest, most open minded chicks I met were from ACU.
