CANTON, Ohio — At the shrine where the NFL celebrates its past, the Broncos said farewell to the way they were.

When will pro football in Denver be great again?

The glory years of the 1990s, when Denver was the envy of the league and it felt as if the victory parade would go on forever, were bid adieu Saturday night, when tight end Shannon Sharpe was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
