By virtue of not only having the No. 2 overall draft pick (OLB Von Miller), but two picks in the second round (FS Rahim Moore, RT Orlando Franklin), the Broncos were allocated an NFL-high $44 million to sign their nine draft picks, according to an NFL source.

While $44 million is tops, consider that Ndamukong Suh got $60 million all by himself as the No. 2 draft pick in 2010.

So does that mean we get over and above the 120 mill cap or does that 44 have to fit under it.

If so why do they get an allotment?

Does anyone know what the CBa says.

iirc they are two different things the salary cap is for the money that is being paid to this years players, while the rookie pool is for the total contracts of all the rookies that we have to sign.

On the past the rookie salaries had to be in the overall salary cap.

Maybe with the new CBA the rookies are a separate issue and next year they have to be merged. ???
