I can't really decide if it is slower or the same. The new posts search is showing .01 seconds, which is good, but when going to reply, the smilies and stuff seem to be taking a while to load, but it could be because I am focused so much on it.

To all the mods who have worked on the server issue as well as keeping the training wheels on these pages, hats off to you all. This is much more gooder than brand x.

When I give high 5s... it used to just kind of pause before showing up... now it takes a second and then it goes to the top of the page before going back to my spot. This started when you had server issues the other day. Was hoping it would be better now.

I'm at work though... maybe it'll be better at home.

Ok, I'm now copying all the old database backups from the old server to the new server. I don't think that will effect anything, but there could be some sluggishness for the next hour or two, as there is over 20 gigs of backups to be copied between them.

At some point tonight, the techs are supposed to take the server down for a few minutes, 5-10 hopefully, to get the exact model of the RAID card in the box, so I can get monitoring setup to alert me of a drive failure.

I have asked them to do it sometime overnight, but I don't know when that will be.

Well, faster or not, I'm glad I went ahead and rushed the move. The old server went down again about an hour ago, and I can't even contact their tech support, as their support/Help Desk site is also offline.

Yea, they have become so unreliable, trying to overcome one problem, that it isn't too surprising.

It's a shame, they are actually a good company with mostly good people, but have had turnover in their support department recently and it has gone downhill.

I'm copying fairly large amounts of data across to the large server 30gigs so far, as I am copying across all the old backups. That might have resulted in things running a bit sluggish this afternoon and for a few mre hours. I might stop it here in a little while, and the kick copying the rest off later tonight, or first thing tomorrow morning.

Just a heads up.
