Crash. Worst movie to win a best picture Oscar ever.

Also I really did not like My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Everyone was like, "Its sooo funny!". When I watched it I wish I had a spoon to gouge my eye.

It's more of a chick flick type movie.

Hmmm, movies i dont like.

The English Patient-

Just far too boring on every level. Whats worse is i let my girlfriend at the time talk me into seeing it in the theatre. Bleh

Mortal Kombat II-

As if #1 (although not totally horrible) didnt really live up to expectations they then went ahead and made a sequel which sucked ten times more.

Other Notables:

Catwoman
Battlefield Earth
A Streetcar Named Desire
Castaway
Dark City

Those are just a few.

chick flick that help you to understand why?

Yeah, but I like some chick flicks. Bridget Jones was good, and seeing a chick flick means I get to drag my wife to some "dumb action movie" in exchange. That was just an overhyped and ultimately bad movie. That reminds me, I HATE JUNO. What 16 year old girl knows who the hell Soupy Sales or Thundercats is? We get it, you're unique- you talk on a hamburger phone and listen to edgy music. Now shut the hell up and get on birth control next time.

I love action movies.

I've seen a Mortal Kombat movie and agree that sucked.

Most Van Damme/Steven Segal movies suck. No, wait, all of their movies suck.

I hated Pay it Forward. It was actually a good movie until the end. The end just ruined everything that was decent about that movie.

death becomes her is one of the worst movies ever made, but i like it because of that.

spiderman 2 and 3 made me want to die. dan in real life had one of the mose unlikeable main characters in teh history of movies that the studio expected people to root for.

Brokeback Mountain - Take away that it was two gay cowboys and it was pure emotional drivel. If it had been a forbidden love between a man and a woman there is no way it would be considered for an Oscar. That movie was a Gay Rights/Issues delivery vehicle IMHO.

the French connection was a great movie when it came out. as well as the falcon and snowman was based on a real story my wife knew the actual law enforcement guy in that one.....

I suspect had you seen it back then instead of a rerun you might have understood it better..

Like the original star wars great movie at the time but if it had actually been produced in the same matter after the real first three came out it would have been booed off the screen.

The technology is so much better today than WAY back.. when your two movies I questioned were produced..

I think they're great escapism :D

The first two rival the first two Die Hards, IMO, for the greatest Christmas movies of all time

What they did do really well with the Lethal Weapons though is the way that they evolved from an action movie with some comedic elements to proper action comedy whilst adding a key element (Pesci, Russo then Chris Rock) in each movie.

I ended up watching LW1 at the theater with a whole group of football players from high school. The first scene with the naked lady got all sorts of crass comments from them and I was all  Then what to my wondering eyes should appear, but Mel Gibson's beautiful ass! I did the loudest wolf whistle at that point, and all the football players from Mr.B's team suddenly remembered I was there and shut up about the naked lady. I've loved Mel ever since.

Bloodrayne was freaking terrible, i threw that one out the freaking window.

Oh, god, yes it was horrible.

Babel - lasted 30 minutes. When a cute Japanese girl is showing me her pubes and I'm bored, a movie really has to suck.

No Country For Old Men - the final 20 minutes made the entire movie a waste of time, which wasn't that good up to then anyway.

I've decided if it wins or even gets nominated for an Oscar I'll probably hate it.

That's the only reason I can get away with watching the first two with the missus ;)

There are way too many good movies in this thread. I swear, You guys that hate on all the classic 80's flicks are simply out of touch. And waaay to critical. Live a little.

I can't believe nobody mentioned a couple of Costner classics - "The Postman" and "Waterworld."

Embarrassing to even admit I've watched them - I can't imagine what its like to have them on my resume. I would move to a cave for the duration.

I think waterworld is ok if you forget how much it cost to make.

They weren't listed by me because I've never seen them.

If you do you'll regret my not heeding my warning here!

The biggest problem with Waterworld is a premise that is so stupid I could never get past it. I thought it was a bad movie on top of it.

I remember when Waterworld was being made. I thought it was dumb enough and then the bottom line kept getting bigger and bigger and the greater that number became, the dumber it seemed to me. Glad I wasn't wrong.

I have a friend who loved this movie. I've never seen it, but she insists she loves it based on her mental state at the time. It made her laugh when she didn't think she could. So there's one person in the world who likes it.

Me, don't think I will ever watch it. I've heard enough negatives to stay far, far away from it.

Most sequels do. For example, the Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. :banghead:
