The Rockies’ first baseman has one last shot to make his first all-star game since 2004. Todd Helton was placed on the Final Man Online Ballot.

I thought Tulo was a starter over Reyes last time I checked??

from article:

Tulowitzki was the landslide leader in the fan voting for most of the process, but was overtaken in the past few days by Reyes, the major-league leader in hitting (.354) and hits (123). Tulo will have to settle for being a reserve on the National League team after being voted in by the players.

It's possible that Tulowitzki, who earned his second all-star berth, would replace Reyes in the starting lineup because of an injury issue. Reyes was scheduled to undergo an MRI today after leaving Saturday's game with tightness in his left hamstring.

Still, it's a disappointment for the Rockies' organization to have a player lead the voting into the 11th hour, only to be overtaken.

Rockies manager Jim Tracy was also Helton's de facto campaign manager today.

"I'm imploring to our Rockies nation to get busy, get online and punch that name 'Helton' as many times as you can possibly do it," Tracy said. "The contribution that this man has made to not only this city and this organization, but to the game in general, I think it's really important for this guy to get a legitimate opportunity to get to that game."

Helton shrugged off any special attention, saying it "would be an honor to be named," but that he wasn't going to let it affect his day much.

Helton, hitting .323 entering today's game with Kansas City, was left off the NL squad's reserves as named by San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy .

It's easy to vote - once you enter in your initial information, you can keep voting as many times as you want.

Vote Alex Gordon and Todd Helton.

There are so many things wrong with the All-Star game, though...
