Its was a bad year last year, but...

Including playoffs (actually, excluding them too) the Broncos have the third best winning percentage of NFL teams since 1980...

49ers - .599
Steelers - .582
Broncos - .580
Patriots - .562
Dolphins - .557
Cowboys - .550
Eagles - .545
Packers - .542
Giants - .540
*Ravens - .537

* The Ravens have only played since 1996

That's a good stat. I like it. However, I do think that contributes more to how bad our current struggles seem.

When one gets used to excellence, it's hard to accept anything but. I have full confidence that the Broncos will find their way and return to elite status among NFL franchises.

I just don't want to wait... I'm greedy.

I think this is what contributes to people thinking Denver will be down for 10 years now...they won't. Maybe they won't win a Super Bowl (of course, hopefully Tebow is a franchise quarterback and I'm wrong), but I think Denver will be back to a .500 or better team in the near future.

Hence my repeated assertion that Bronco fans are amongst the most spoiled in the NFL. The last two years took some of the luster off.

The 49ers have a 2-14 AND a 4-12 season in the last 30, and the Steelers have a 5-11 season in the last 30...it happens...

MO's stats defiantly show which teams have the most competent owners. I believe it would be most telling about Denver's ownership to see where we stand over the past 12 years since Elway retired. After all, it’s easy to make a top 10 list over a 30 year period when 16 of those seasons were with a HoF QB. However, being on a top 10 list without one is a much bigger accomplishment and gives fans a lot more hope for the future. If MO would like to invest the time and energy to research this for us, I'm sure that we might in deed make the top 10 for the league and top 5 for the conference. Of course it will show us 2nd behind San Diego for our division.

I could compile the stats myself, but it would be too time consuming when I do need to be focusing some of my time and energy on some personal projects of mine.

It's so true. My Seahawk fan friends are not at all sympathetic to our plight the last few years. "Oh no, you poor baby - three years of mediocrity? Must be rough. TRY THREE DECADES, YOU SPOILED BRAT!"

The Packers were 6-10 in 2008. Just saying.

the good ones find a way to get back to the top. Let's see what Elway and a little of the old magic will do for the Broncos chances of getting back there..
I think the type of character and talent they are bringing in now is not going to hurt either.
