Estela put on Walking Dead last night. We watched a couple of episodes. Do they at some point explain how the zombie apocalypse started? All I remember is the guy waking up in the hospital bed after all hell had already broken loose.
No, they have not explained how it started to date.
The only explanation so far is that everyone has it, it remains dormant until death and then activates.

Note quite sure of which episode, but it starts falling apart about mid way through. The last few are just horrible and some of the things that happen in the beginning...that would make good story lines...simply die.
There is one memorable scene in a later episode that was entertaining. I'm not really spoiling anything by showing it to you here.

In short, it's about a female police sergeant that lives in a drug infested area called "Happy Valley" in Yorkshire who's dealing with her daughter's suicide who was raped, leading to her to take her own life. She (the police woman) sees the guy who she thinks raped her daughter in the town she polices. Then the hunt is on. But the guy she thinks is responsible for her daughters rape/suicide is also involved in the kidnapping of another female.
There's some other little plots and twist throughout the series but that's the thick of it.
I also have a fascination with British tv shows as well as the accent so that was also a part of what turned me on to it.

Has anyone watched this show "The Profit" that comes on after the shark tank on CNBC? The premise is actually really interesting - it's a guy who goes in and overhauls failing businesses... I’ve been watching a show called Storytime with CJ. The pilot and first couple of episodes were meh, but the last couple of episodes have kicked ass. They changed their lineup or screenwriter or something. It’s kind of like feel-good story meets Grand Theft Auto meets Avengers. Recommend.

That's the show's biggest strength and biggest flaw IMO. The dialogue is great and at times completely unrealistically great. Munn is awesome, I also think Emily Mortimer who plays Mac is really hot.

Fascinating.
I am not naive enough to believe all those killed during black ops are innocent, equally I am open to the possibility we get it wrong - a lot, with dire consequences.
Nor do I think the public should know everything about war zones and the tactics used - BUT we need to be better than those we are fighting against other wise we are just creating more future insurgents.

I watched the first few seasons when it was on but then just sorta fell off, after having finished it it is now in my top ten all time series and my top Five all time sitcoms.

Started watching the walking dead and we got caught up to season 5, but are not going to watch that until we can start from beginning. So I have been trying to find something to watch after I do my shoulder exercises at night.
I tried watching Z nation- to keep the same zombie theme going. Probably the worst acting, plot, everything..EVER!
so...I watched 2 episodes of "100". So far it is ok. We shall see how it goes. Anyone watch 100?

100 is pretty descent, it has it's ups and downs but I watch it.
Z Nation had star power but it lacked so much that it became a putrid assault to the senses, the show is so dumb that you feel stupider just watching it.

House of Cards.
The original British version is also on Netflix, 3 seasons of 4 episodes each. The American version is similar, but different. All I'll say is that "British Frank" does as much damage in their 4 episode 1st season as American Frank did in his 1st 2 seasons of 26 episodes. "British Frank" does similar damage in his 2nd season before everything hits the fan in their 3rd & final season. On the other hand, the "American Frank" deals much wider range issues where as "British Frank" doing the same thing over & over again.
All-in-all, "British Frank" is much scarier to me because almost on one know that he stab them in back even after the deed is done. As far as "American Frank," everyone know exactly who he is, yet when the sharks are circling, they're all stupid enough to let him manipulate them into devouring each other rather then him.

Actually, when it come to TV series, I do thing that the British/Canadian practice of having 4-12 episodes seasons leads to higher quality of scripts than the 2 dozen of so episodes per season for American series.

I binge-watched it this weekend. I feel like HOC is a good notch or two below in quality than= other series' I've followed this closely/binge-watched, but still pretty entertaining despite plot holes you can drive a car through.
Unsure what I can post here that won't have spoilers regarding the new season, but there even more suspend your disbelief moments this year than the previous 2. And with the way this year ended, if the story goes where I think it might in season 4 (e.g., Frank Underwood has a new, most unexpected political adversary!) it will be jump-the-shark time.
I watched 24 for awhile without feeling like it was really that good a show, this is going that direction.

Comparatively speaking, remember the 2 part Star Trek: The Next Generation episode, "The Best of Both Worlds?" Remember your reaction to, "To Be Continued" notification the end of part 1, which was the season finally of season 3. That's going to be your reaction to the end of season 3 of House of Cards. Except for the fact that you only had to wait 3 months for the 4th season of Star Trek: The Next Generation to start.
So while your waiting, give the original British version from the '90s a try.
I watched the final 2 episodes of Parks and Rec - I am so sad this show is over but they never lost a beat - it was a great finale!!! I really like how they did the look into the future - I knew Ann and Chris would be back - I just knew it!!!!
Then I got hooked on watch Broad City while cleaning my room - I shouldnt find this show funny or entertaining but I did
Then Kaleb wanted to be in the room with me so I had to find something for us both to watch that wasnt Spongebob so we started watching Fresh Off the Boat - its entertaining and you can get a few laughs here and there - Kaleb really liked it so that is something that we will watch together that I actually enjoy (I wont lie I really like Spongebob but not enough to watch non stop)
We also watch Master Chef Jr. together

There's been a lot of great cliff hangers who's conclusions were major disappointments (NCIS has had more then their fair share of these), but Best of Both Worlds wasn't 1 of them. Its defiantly, in my opinion, one of the best cliff hangers/conclusions of all time.

That is one of my favorite episodes of television. Watched it all the time as a kid. Really the defining moment for TNG. I would say it's between that and "In The Pale Moonlight" from DS9 as the best episode of Star Trek.

So you like "Where do you draw the line," stories. I like Homefront/Paradise Lost episodes more for that subject matter.
As far as ranking Star Trek "Piolt" episodes:
1) (tie) DS9 & Enterprise
3) Voyager
4) (tie) Next Generation & Original

Finished up the last episode of the season for Shameless last night. I started binge watching this a few months ago but this new season took the series to a new level. I may have to go back and watch the UK version to see how it compares. This season took the best parts of the previous ones and mad quite the impression on me. The dark humor, family drama, and storylines all came together really well. William H. Macy did a great job and I loved his story arc this time around. If anyone is looking for a new show to start on, this one is pretty good. More information here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1586680/
I am also really enjoying Peaky Blinders on Netflix. After Boardwalk Empire ended I really need my turn of the century crime dramas, and I like how this one deals with the smaller operations in and around London at the time. Plus Cilian Murphy is a great actor and really carries the show.

The first 4 maybe were as good as it gets. Then it kind of fizzled, IMO. McCognaughey's and Harrelson's acting sold it more than the story did. Still overall good, but the ending felt meh to me.
This season I am just looking at a brand new show. Won't judge it against the first because McC and Harrelson's chemistry and acting just killed it. So far it is an interesting cop show, nothing more. Nothing really compelling, but not bad. Still letting things develop before making a judgment. Didn't see the ending coming of the last episode.

It's an awesome show. We finished season 2 a few weeks ago. Now we're eagerly anticipating the 3rd season to start.

Bosch - on amazon prime - loving it. Very cliche, and not as well done as True Detective - but in the same ball park

Hatfields and McCoys
a really good period drama mini series - not as good as the klondike, but still very good

yeah definitely - the only bit i did not like was the second McCoy girl that Jonsie got with and her double cross, that bit frustrated me.

I thought Alaskan Bush People was the dumbest show ever the first time I watched it. Now, I anxiously await the next episode.
Kind of the same with Life Below Zero. A few of the families irritate me, but I keep watching.
The Profit and Shark Tank are also on my list of "must watch" shows.

Set in the Reagan Era 80s, basically about two commie spies living in america and trying to balance their mission with the fact that they are married and have children who are oblivious to their parents' lives. It kicks ass and Keri Russell is damn good looking.
-Set during the Cold War period in the early 1980s, The Americans is the story of Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys), two Soviet KGB officers posing as an American married couple living in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. with their unsuspecting children (Holly Taylor and Keidrich Sellati) and their neighbor, Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich), an FBI agent working in counterintelligence.[2]-
Very underrated show.

I watched it on my lunch break. I'm glad Jamaal makes that show. There's something about Barry's character that seems a little fake
