DENVER (CBS4) – The Denver Broncos are probably still shopping for some defensive tackles, but they’ve got the pass-rushing personnel accounted for.

The last time Elvis Dumervil suited-up he led the NFL in sacks. And with the second pick in the draft the Broncos picked up the most productive pass rusher in college football in Von Miller.

“I was watching my phone and my phone didn’t ring, so I was like, ‘Maybe it’s not my pick.’ And I looked over to my dad’s phone and his phone had the 303 area code on it and I knew immediately who it was,” Miller said on draft day.

“It’s an exciting day for us. The guy we got was the best guy on our board,” Elway said on draft day.

Miller said it was surreal.

“I’m a Denver Bronco now and I guess I’ve got to say that to myself about 10 times before I go to sleep,” Miller said.

It sure would be nice if they could have training camp so that he has better chance at being extremely productive.

I hope he will not bs chasing RBs from behind all season because the OL gets ro the second level with ease.

Have had few issues with pass rushing considering we have not been able to stop the Rbs.

Maybe our sack level is down because no one had to pass the ball all day.

What kind of person trolls a sports message board like that? I'd have to assume somebody pretty sad and lonely. It wouldn't bother me if it wasn't so straightforward and uncreative, but geez.

Miller wasn't that explosive in his first 10 yards. His 40 time was good for a linebacker of his size, but there were bigger players, like Brooks Reed, who were quicker over 10 yards. That is the key to Clay Matthews success. He had the 10 yard split of a cornerback. The 10 yard burst is by far the most telling measurement for a pass rusher.

But his overall speed will be needed when chasing rb's/te's down from behind after they're into the secondary.
