Most people would try to forget the worst, most painful day of their lives. Not Nate Irving. The Broncos' third-round draft pick tattooed a reminder on his left forearm — a large shape of a cross.

It was in the wee hours of June 28, 2009, when Irving, then a junior linebacker at North Carolina State, fell asleep while driving back to Raleigh from his parents' home in Wallace, N.C. Irving's green sport-utility vehicle went off a highway, flipped at least once, struck two trees and landed in a ditch.

It was at least 90 minutes before Irving was discovered and then rushed to a hospital.

If you go read the rest of the story there's some stuff what he did this year on the field this past season at N.C. State.
