View Full Version : If I were Bob Slowik I would send the kitchen sink at Cassel

I would blitz and zone blitz Cassel to death.

Do not give him like a year and a half to throw as he will find Welker and Moss all day on our defense. Hit him and hit him again.

Pressure pressure preassure an inexperienced QB

Knock little welker on his ass. that is what I want to see. He is a good wr and an all around pain in the ass who I respect very much so.

Medford, I agree though. I think pressuring Cassel and showing faith in our corners is a good way about attacking him. This kid should be mince meat if we play our cards right. I'm optimistic that we will. . . well. . . sort of.

I'm starting Welker on my fantasy team. We'll rush 3 in passing situations, Cassel will look like Brady.

Prove me wrong BOB!!!!

The kitchen sink might not be enough.

I would feel better if the defense could get their hands on the horse troft they use to feed and water Thunder with during the game and chunk that at Cassel.

That might do the trick.

...sad the only way a team can put ANY pressure at all on a QB is to blitz.

I'm not sold that Denver's blitz's are effective.

If I were Slow-lick and Denver, I'd bring in the Baltimore Ravens defensive line...

It looks like Mike Nolan will be fired....now that is a DC.

If I were Bob, I would be renting.

No.... Bob should keep his house.

I mean, there's gotta be some solid high school DC openings available in the Denver area.

I'd give Nolan a try - maybe even for more than one friggin season.

I'd also let HIM decide who needs to be drafted/traded on the defensive side...

Yeah, I agree with that. The DC has to be able to pick his players.

I think that is why we are stuck with Moss (I think it was a Bates pick).

Nolan was able to bring in some real solid talent during his time in SF and has a knack for defensive drafting. I'd love to see him here.

...had that discussion in another thread.

With some of the looks I've seen, I don't know what the hell scheme we have anymore...

...maybe the 'get pushed around like sissy girls' scheme?

We've got to try something.......................playing zones ain't working so let our highly paid corners play man, and get after Cassel

That doesn't mean we are tied down to 4-3 for the rest of life.

Yeah, Im not averse to the 3-4 or Nolan but Robertson left NY because he didnt suit the 3-4. Its also different for the LBs even though I know we've tinkered with it. But truthfully, its been so bad, its not bad to keep an open mind where our defense is concerned, especially if it means replacing Slowik.

But then also, maybe Nolan can also coach the 4-3 even though he may prefer the 3-4. Im sure when youre a quality DC at the pro level, you have a working knowledge of both.

I understand what you are saying man. But maybe we just need a complete defensive revamp. As hard as it is to say, we may need it.

I wouldnt mind bringing Nolan in and letting him decide if we run a 4-3 or 3-4. Im sure Nolan wants to succeed and I have far more trust in Nolan even running the 4-3 over Slowik.

Well as you said before, a top notch coach SHOULD be able to do both. But if you are a 3-4 guy, then you're a 3-4 guy.

If you all were Bob you would be comfortably sitting in your lounge chair at home enjoying some nice cash knowing that despite you having one of the worst defences in the league your boss will just tell everyone "we are growing, we are improving" rather then lighting up your ass.
