Report: Vikings one of teams looking into McNabb as next QB
From the moment it became clear the marriage between Donovan McNabb and the Washington Redskins wouldn't last, the Minnesota Vikings were mentioned as a natural landing spot for the six-time Pro Bowl quarterback.
That talk isn't going away.
The Vikings are one of the teams interested in acquiring McNabb, The Washington Post reported Monday, citing two people with knowledge of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Did Favre ever say if he is done? Of course as we all know he can say one thing and do another.

Favre is done, but it makes sense for Minnesota to make a move for him. Who else is out there that could be the leader of that team?

bad choice-- donnie's toast. . .
the vikes need to accept that pat williams is a free agent, sidney rice is a free agent, and kevin williams might finally get suspended this year. . .besides which, jared allen's play is down, percy harvin has health issues and is unreliable, antoine winfield is getting old. . . their O-line play is down from a few years ago. . .
last year showed that they're not even close any more-- that team's as full of holes as a golf course. . . their window done closed. . . they need to start rebuilding NOW so that they can have a team ready to go within a couple of years that will have a chance to take advantage of adrian peterson's last few dominant seasons. . .
they aren't winning shit with mcnabb-- not in a division with green bay, the bears and an improving young lions team. . . wasting time, money and resources on #5 would be way too little, way too late. . . if they're smart they'll start rebuilding that defensive line with a player like corey liuget or aldon smith, and draft one of the second tier QB prospects in the second round. . .

Yeeeeep. Their window closed the minute Favre choked against the Saints. The fact they kept Favre on last year destroyed it further.

Drifting from one over the hill QB to the next....it seems the vikings have always done that in the past 15 years!
They're playing for a new stadium. Simply put, if McNabb can find some old magic, they have a shot into the playoffs. We've all seen worse teams on paper stumble into the playoffs.
Is it a good idea? Is mortgaging more of the future for a potential playoff berth that likely ends in a round one trouncing a good idea?
HELL...no....oh god no.

Unless you're the Bengals, of course. Then you do everything in your power to get pounded in the first round of the playoffs...

No, that's not right at all.
If you're the Bengals, you go into the playoffs, put yourself in position to win a hard fought game, **** that up, play yourself back into it and then implode.
