Uncle Buck

I don’t know who I am anymore…

Well, I think I know who I actually “am,” but I seem to be lost in terms of user names.

On the First forum (and don’t we all remember our “firsts?), I was just “Buckland.” While, at the same time, I really wished that I had picked “BucklandBronco.” Medford Bronco came along and dubbed me “Uncle Buck.”

On the second forum, I was BucklandBronco. Great handle, but the jury is out on the forum.

Then, in Tned’s new forum, it was/is “UnoMyName?” I guess I came up with that cuz I really did not know what handle to go with anymore. I kind of like the nick, “Uno.”

Anyhowzers, what this poll is all about is picking my handle for this forum. As strange as it may seem, I have not posted much, owing to the indecision over handles. Which is just plain silly.

Well, I can see your quandry. Afterall, the poll is 33.3% times three. :D
Sometimes old and familiar is the way to go. We all know you as long as you have 'buck' in your name. :D

So, you are saying I should just stay with Buckland?

So, you are saying I should just stay with Buckland? :confused:That was my personal vote. Had to laugh though once I looked at the poll as a whole....I could see the poll isn't helping you out too much. :D

Nope, the poll is not helping out that much, co-silly.

So, I'm still in the dark here. My take is that nobody really cares. Polls can be self-indulgent...and silly. <T> and ... <LOL>

I can't go wrong with "Buckland," right? I mean, "Uncle Buck" could draw off from that?

So, "Uno" is out of the running? I could live with that, as I hate the card game of the same name.

Hell, I dunno. Just as confused as where/when I started. Never could make a clean decision, 'cept when under the clutch.

No matter what's your name, you are Uncle Buck (though you tried many times to cut my heritage ! ).

Ok, the people have spoken…Uncle Buck it is. <sigh> I can live with that (Thank you I think, Med)!

Now, the problem is, how do I change it from Uno? I went through all the options from “CP,” and didn’t see an option for changing user names. Help me out, Tned!? Do I have to reenlist as “Uncle Buck,” then let “Uno” die by attrition?

Meanwhile, I thank all of you who have helped me to arrive at the decision: -HW- (http://broncosforums.com/forums/member.php?u=6), BigBroncLove (http://broncosforums.com/forums/member.php?u=101), Davii (http://broncosforums.com/forums/member.php?u=71), SmithOverTO (http://broncosforums.com/forums/member.php?u=84), anton... >>uncle buck FTW!<< Call me dumb, call me irresponsible, but WTH does “FTW” mean, Doggie?

>>I was always taught that I should use a title with my elders.<< VERY funny, Tops… But don’t quit your day job, ok? :D

>>Here's my vote....<< Nice suit, mtnman, but what’s with the triple chins?!?! I was thinkin’ about copying that pic for my new avy, but might have to do some photo retouching first!

>>I like BucklandBronco. But hey, i'm calling you Uncle Buck no matter what the username.<< Oh well—I’m BucklandBronco over at that Mane board, Davii, but don’t know if I’ll post there much in the future. They tend to beat up on me!

>>Well, since poopie pants isn't an option, I guess Uncle Buck...<< Reidman, that was so funny I forgot to laff! --Pee Wee Herman

>>a closet Broncos fan.... I have a new name to add << Oh, but we know you ARE, sweetie. It’s just a matter of time before your official “outing!” :D

>>uncle buck!!<< ANTON! I love ya, man!

>>No matter what's your name, you are Uncle Buck (though you tried many times to cut my heritage ! Your dear flench perv ******* "froggy" (yeah... we can use this word here) nephew still loves you Uncle Buck ! <<

This would not be complete without the twisted words from my perverted froggie nephew. But please don’t say “I love you” in public, ok? The freakin’ FBI may be monitoring this site!

As an aside, my oft errant nephew, may I take this opportunity to express my opinion on “racial” slurs? (Thank you, I knew you would not mind, since you are OK with “froggie.)

Obviously, “Frog,” in ref to de Flench emanated from their hankering for frog legs (I’ve tried ‘em, btw, but they taste a bit fishy to the likes of moi—and definitely not as guten as chicken!).

We usta call Germans “Krauts” cuz of one of their culinary faves—sauerkraut.

The Irish were “Micks” cuz every other boy child was named “Mike,” or so it seemed.

But, I’d better leave it here, as some of the ethnic slurs are really slurs. I think it’s all in the intent. I would not call someone I do not know a “frog,” of course—but I know you, Frog face, so all bets are off!

Had a black frin who referred to her boyfriend as “my nigguh.” You hafta really be solid in your friendship to use that term, however. Brian Piccolo called his black friend that in “Brian’s Song,” but they were NFL teammates.

I had an Italian gf once, but never went beyond “spaghetti bender” with her. Guess we were not all that close?

Anyway, enough of this silliness. It’s all in the ears of the beholder. And smart peeps know the rules/limitations without being told.

Uncle Buck

 The FBI is spying us? :ahhhhh:

But, will they trust what a frog says? LOL :frog:

"Je n'y crôa pas" ... LOL
Let me explain you this French/Frog joke... The correct French sentence would has been "Je n'y CROIS pas" (means "I don't believe it").

But "crôa" is the sound of a frog in French and as about the same sound as "crois" ... See the joke now?
I hope that make sense... LOL

Well, about "racial nicknames"... I guess we have a tendency to give nicknames to everyone and everything... BUt you're right... It's better to use them with someone you know and someone who can understand if it's an insult or not... For example, I have some Asians friends (Chinese)... I often joke with them about "Ninja" or other nicknames... But they also know I have a deep interest and respect for their background and culture...

Welcome back UNCLE BUCK ! (I mean... welcome back Uncle's $ ... ROFL)
