In short yardage this guy is a beast. I would love to see him get more carries as he is far more physical than Young or Hall. Good win for the Broncos today. :salute:

He was just saying Hi to his old mates. Pretty good game Mike!

Absolutely.... Loved the run where I could hear the 2 pops he put on the D all the way out here in NV... This guy is not some washed-up, lame pickup... still a player.

Screw short yardage. He should be the starter.

I was one of the few to not throw this guy under the bus in the preseason. Where's my gold star? :D

I wouldnt be opposed to it but Young and Hall do bring another dimension to the running game. But i would love to see Michael get the nod for a couple of games. He looks hungry out there everytime he touches the ball.

I have been critical of Pittman's running ability, but he was by far our best RB today.

Pittman's problem is he's a game-time back, not a practice back. So it's hard to make him the starter by what he does during the week. Still, against his old team he sure brought it, and I'd rather him be a game-time back - better than the other way 'round.

I don't think he should be the starter, but I love him as a 3rd down back, and not just for short yardage runs. He's a beast in pass blocking and probably the best receiving RB the Broncos have had in years. More screens please.

He has done good on the field. But he is still a shit head off the field.

I was a doubter for a while. Basically I didn't like what I thought about him. But since week 1 he's been shutting my mouth. He played good today. I'm kind of glad that today was a tough game because it will prepare us for the Jags next week. Now we know that our team isn't just finese. We can pound the ball and we can lay some wood. Should be a fun game next weekend.

Good job by Pittman today. He knows his role and does it very well. Steady week in and week out.

I don't think we'd be hurting too bad if he got to start. Beat'm up with Pitt, then slash and gash with Selvin Hall. ;)

It is so nice to have a real 3rd down back.

He can block, great receiver out of the backfield , can run draws, can run short yardage.

Complete package.

Yea, I'm gonna have to start showing him some more love. I have been thinking it would be good to see Selvin more in 3rd downs, but Pittman really has been playing well. He got the yards when we needed them today.

He is basically playing the role that I thought Hillis would this year. Kept in on 3rd downs for protecting Jay and catching out of the backfield, and a battering ram on short yardage and goal line runs.

Pittman showed he is good for more than short yardage. I'm beginning to
think that they ought to just put him in there and make him the workhorse.
Period. Then Young and Hall could be change-of-pace.

Why take Pittman out even on third downs? If it's short, that's a no-brainer,
of course. If it's long, Pittman is a very good blocker, and he is terrific
catching passes out of the backfield. I was impressed even with his burst and
his quickness.

Nope, as I said, I think I would just put him out there.

Pittman's a situational guy, but again, he came up big when they needed him to. He looked like the most successful going forward for short yardages, and pounding their defensive line. With 2 basically speed/finnesse backs in Young and Hall, Pittman's the bruiser personality of our offense.

Pittman, you were a big part of this win against a solid Bucs team! :salute:

IMO, he won the game for the broncos...That 3rd and 3 first down with 1:37 left was a MUST.....Bucs were shutting em down all day.

crap this is the second crow thread for me. I called him "done" in the preseason. I guess there is a reason Shanny is calling the shots and not me.

Hmmm . . . that reminds me of my Aunt Gladys.

"What do you think I am?" she shot back, after this dude offered her a quarter for some fun.

"We already know that," he replied. "Now we're discussing the price."

I agree...

Pittman's been a nice add this year...nothing super flashy or anything, but I liked the hard-nosed running - esp. yesterday.

He's 1-up on Selvin right now if you ask me...

Here is what Mark Cooper said about Pittman in his blog (http://blog.denverbroncos.com/mark_cooper/2008/10/06/costly-win-versus-buccaneers-4-1/):

Did you all see the “freight-train” Pittman run late in the game where he ran
through and then over a few Bucs, pile-driving them into the ground?? Those
guys were picking up their jock-straps after that train wreck and probably
calling 911 after being run over by like that.

Say, that's a pretty good nickname, isn't it? "Freight Train"!!

Good Pittman article in this morning's Camera, I've posted it here (http://www.broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=412432#post412432)so it didn't get buried at the back of this worthwhile thread ;)
