Ok here is the offensive player evaluation. Again I will use the scale I'm used to 20-80....40 or below is a minus player, 45 is fringe avg, 50 is avg, 55 is above avg, 60 is a plus player, 65 or higher is a plus-plus. I will consider everything from what he's done to position move. The # in () is his potential. If you want an explanation on a player ask.

Kyle Orton: 55 (55)
Brady Quinn: 45 (55)
Tim Tebow: 50 (70)
Lance Ball: 45 (50)
Correll Buckhalter: 45 (45)
Knowshon Moreno: 55 (65)
LenDale White: 50 (55)
Spencer Larsen: 50 (50) (fullback)
Eric Decker: 50 (60)
Jabar Gaffney: 55 (55)
Brandon Lloyd: 65 (65)
Eddie Royal: 55 (60)
Demaryius Thomas: 50 (65)
Matt Willis: 45 (55)
Dan Gronkowski: 45 (50)
Richard Quinn: 45 (55)
J.D. Walton: 50 (60)
Zane Beadles: 50 (60)
Stanley Daniels: 45 (50)
Russ Hochstein: 50 (50)
Chris Kuper: 55 (60)
Ryan Clady: 75 (80) only 75 bc of injury last season.
Ryan Harris: 55 (60)

From my evaluation...which we all know are defense is further behind....We need a TE (starter) and a RB (Depth/Split carries)

i think r.quinn and gaffeny are rated to high...gaffney is average, not a #1, disappears alot...quin should be a 30 with a potential of 40...he's done nothing

Above avg don't make you a #1 WR. He is a good #2-3....Jason Avant is avg. Kevin Walter is avg. Earl Bennett is avg. Patrick Crayton is avg & Michael Jenkins is avg, just to name a few. I think Gaffney is better than those guys.

Quinn stepped up as a blocker in the season last yr...Never think he will be a receiving TE but can be a very good blocking TE.

The only one I'll argue with is that Kuper should be ranked higher.

Nice job, Coach, and I'm generally in agreement. Just a few minor differences:

Kyle Orton: 55 (60)
Brady Quinn: 45 (50)
Tim Tebow: 50 (60)
Correll Buckhalter: 50 (50)
Eric Decker: 50 (60)
Jabar Gaffney: 50 (50)

J.D. Walton: 45 (60)
Zane Beadles: 50 (60)
Stanley Daniels: 45 (45)
Russ Hochstein: 45 (45)
Chris Kuper: 55 (60)
Ryan Clady: 65 (80)
Ryan Harris: 50 (65)

I left out those I agree with.

just curious how you can think clady is an 80 but champ was only a 70 or 75. IMO champ should be rated higher than clady.....unless you have age factored into it, then it makes sense. Is that what you think?

quinn was benched by MCD when he was a complete and utter failure when he was given a shot ....surely you remember the ass chewing he recieved as he screwed up drive after drive with incompetence

i believe we have seen the absalute best of orton already

I'm not going to trash this thread with another big Orton/Tebow debate.

My suggestion is that you visit one of the hordes of threads that have already polluted this forum.

That is all.

Quinn, Orton, and Gaffney are too high, Tebow is too high.

Orton = 50
Quinn = 45
Tebow = 60
Gaffney = 50

IMO

its a simple question top.

Rap, I have answered that question time and again, over and over, ad nauseam,
for the last two years or so. Do you really want an answer? Review my posts on
at least three or four different message boards. They are full of facts and figures.

I'm just not going to go into that anymore . . . :deadhorse:

If this is big dick that you are talking about. yes, Richard should do well. I remember focusing soley on the TE in TC and and Pre and Richard looked really good. That other guy sucked to sooooo bad. I said he was trash and was going to get cut. Then after he scored a couple tds in pre season every layed in to me. And sure enough we cut him and kept big dick.

by facts and figures...you mean excuses and your opinion....right?

top i have seen you ramble on about how great orton is....how great he could be...how all the bad is the fault of other things...
not what im asking

im asking you about the value you posted of potential...what makes you believe orton has an equal ceiling or potential as a much more physically gifted qb...

I'll give this a try. One major problem I see skimming over posts is that old players should actually have lower potential than their current rating. As you get older, you get worse, not stay the same. And most of you vastly overrated our players. Most of them are below average.

Kyle Orton: 55 (60)
Brady Quinn: 35 (55)
Tim Tebow: 30 (60)
Lance Ball: 40 (50)
Correll Buckhalter: 40 (30)
Knowshon Moreno: 50 (65)
LenDale White: 40 (50)
Spencer Larsen: 30 (40)
Eric Decker: 45 (65)
Jabar Gaffney: 45 (40)
Brandon Lloyd: 60 (45)
Eddie Royal: 50 (60)
Demaryius Thomas: 45 (75)
Matt Willis: 35 (50)
Dan Gronkowski: 35 (50)
Richard Quinn: 25 (40)
J.D. Walton: 50 (65)
Zane Beadles: 40 (60)
Stanley Daniels: 25 (25)
Russ Hochstein: 25 (25)
Chris Kuper: 55 (55)
Ryan Clady: 70 (80)
Ryan Harris: 50 (60)
