In addition to the poll, please discuss this issue and your thoughts in as much detail as possible.

No opinion. I don't plan on getting banned so I really don't have an opinion on it. Do what works.

I think everyone for the most part are respectful when the mods tell them they went over the line.

I also believe the mods do a good job of approaching us. I like how there are mods from all 3 main boards. They can relate to most posters.

I wish there was a way for the average user to take out the chargers trolls.

WTM hasn't been banned even once, and neither has mtnman-- clearly, you guys are slacking. . . . ;)

I think the bans have just been about right. Getting rid of the spammers quickly and efficiently which is nice. Giving the trolls their say and then running them off when they continually cross the line, that's good. Letting people in P&R measure out the rope, cut it, tie it into a noose, and then hang themselves.

You guys are doing well.

Its funny, I expect the same treatment our trolls get here, when I troll they're boards. But its 3 posts of mild disagreement, and your banned.

I truly believe Broncos fans are the heart and soul of the NFL. :D

I feel that the amount of rope one is given to hang oneself is long enough. Has someone had an issue with this that is not named Casino JWalk?

Oh, and an "The number of Bannings/Suspensions is just right" option needs to exist in this poll.

Since I should have been banned long ago I voted -->Too few bans/suspensions are issued

Chargers forum, eh? They're pretty draconian and the result is that it is the "loudest" echo chamber ever.

I think the bans are alright as is.

T,

I think too few bans are being given out on the forum. (Just think about your PM to me recently, for example regarding this situation.) I'd like to see harsher restrictions and a more pro-active look towards discipline here on the forum. I know you guys are doing your absolute best and I appreciate all the efforts you're doing to clean the forum up, but I think you guys are still a little hesitant to ban someone, especially long time members.

There are some things that have been posted (P and R) that IMHO, deserved immediate attention and more than likely a ban. These things should be reported (and I have to say I don't report much) -- and I think if we as members reported things more -- you and the mods would have more information to go off of to make a decision.

I think we can see a correlation between the bans and the lack of use of the reporting system. I often think instead of reporting something, by nature we sling shit back or just ignore it. I don't think many of us (including myself) do the "responsible" thing and just shut up and report and let you guys deal with it.

If us members could get that down, I think we'd see a difference in the overall impacts of your discipline.

Does this help?

Hope so T.

Thanks for letting us discuss this.

I think it's pretty much just right. I stay away from the P&R for the most part though, so I don't know about there.

Yeah... it's hard really to say without some feedback from the staff regarding the reports that come in.

I'd need more of that feedback before agreeing with your assessment that more bans need to take place though.

However, I can say that I can go to the ban list and say that there's not much there to disagree with. ;)

In general, I think the board is too slow to pull the trigger on bans. I don't know if it would result in more bans or if the people who already got bans would just get them sooner.

P & R is a mess and I hate going in there for the most part, because it's absolutely ridiculous. I don't want to say too much about that though, because the opt-in forums ban hasn't been around too long, and that may be the solution there. IMO, P&R is the biggest problem by far. The rest of the forums seems to be fine for the most part other than a few trolls, but that's to be expected.

I'm with you Cheesy. The P& R forum is just a waste of time and accomplishes nothing. I've tried it. Nobody is going to change anybodys opinion and it's just a battleground that gets people frustrated.

I think its fine but i dont even notice when people get banned unless someone points it out - it would only effect me if one of my friends or tubby was banned :D

P&R should have a little more leeway - I mean there is a reason the saying goes - I never discuss Politics or Religion - its a heated issue and as long as people dont go to flipping out - all should be OK - I mean you shouldnt go in there if you dont have thick skin

I kinda think smack is a little overly modded, if you will - I mean its smack - once again - if you go in there and get your feelings hurt - you shouldnt be there

As long as people limit insults to your team or to you personally (P&R and Smack only - no need for insults anywhere else on the forum) then it should be OK - Dont get racial/gender specific or bring someones family into any insult - regardless of the section, that crosses the line

I know I'm a bit lax on this type of stuff, but its just MHO - which is what you asked for :D (Be careful what you ask for you just may get it)

I absolutely disagree that insults belong in P&R. There is NO reason to add fuel to the fire of something that by nature is already a heated topic.

I DONT KNow/care really..... I would like it if you would not perma ban nature boy. I dont know if that has or hasnt happened since i cant see who has been banned. I only see a blank box that says code...

I really like nature boys sig- it freaking cracks me up everytime i see it. Unless of course you can copy one and give it to me, then i dont really care if there is a perma ban ornot.

Ehh - i mean if you cant take it then dont discuss a heated topic - a few insults are bound to fly around - if they are kept to a minimum then IMO people should not take them that seriously - again its a place where you need thick skin and if you (not you personally frau, obviously) cant take someone throwing a few jabs then you should prolly steer clear of it (as in smack) - just like the lounge can be HIGHLY insulting to some of the people who originally came to this forum, with the graphic sex talk, scantly clad boobies n all - so those people stay away -

Its a message board and you arent forced to go into any thread - you go of your own volition - if seeing boobies all the time bothered me or insulted me as a women - then i wouldnt go into the lounge or the hot womens forum

I dont see the difference

We are all here of our own free will

Now when you take that hostility into the lounge or brocncos section and insult people based on their political or religious beliefs that is crossing the line

But my option is prolly to hard for the mods - it would be a very fine line - i was just stating my opinion - for the mods sake - i think there should be more control so they dont have to babysit the same posters in other sections

It seems just about right to me. I don't go to the P and R much. I agree with 9ers take on that it accomplishes nothing. Interesting thing to discuss, but only with like minded people in my opinion. i admit, I can be a little rambunctioius over there when I do visit. There are just some views I absolutely can not stand.

Cswil's been picking on me alot lateley in the lounge, but I've been taking that fine. He's an abusive person but probably because he is in pain and just reaching out. So I will tolerate him. But if you feel that he needs banning, then so be it.

I hope that helps.

I agree with what OB said.

The thing I find annoying about P & R thread are people making one sentence comments or little remarks all the time that has nothing to do with the subject... other then that everything seems fine.

So I will go with it is just fine.

I am unaware of when someone is banned. I stay out of P&R, so I have no idea what is going on there. I stand by the mods decisions as I feel they are and have been fair and thoughtful with certain circumstances.

Keep on Banning 'em if they deserve it. Cheers

i look for concistency and warnings. Not getting one at the Mane and Apa getting one there for such a stupid reason makes me think this place is better on fairness. Plus you got rid of JWalk/Casino Royal much faster than OM did. But, I put no opinion as I havent seen it first hand. I know you guys would have handled it much better if it happened here.
