Marcus thomas reported/ tweetered that he is Not signing his tender offer and plans to test the FA market.

Do not count on him being here next year.

Quinn/Doom
Marcus Austin/Fields
Thomas/Vickerson
Ayers/Doom

Doom 3rd down specialist

He can go from DE or a LBer position

I think Ayers, Quinn, Thomas, Austin rushing from the line on third down with Doom coming from WSLB or SSLB would be killa.

Ignoring that last time doom was a DE he had 12.5 sacks and 8.5 sacks.....i think he can be an all down DE....he is not as good in coverage though

Iirc thomas is not an UFA. Until a new CBa is signed he should belong to us just as a few players last year were.

They have to have 5 years of service with a club. Before they can move on with out any strings

So if another clubs signs him they owe us that draft pick he is tendered for.

I think that remains in effect until a new CBA is in place.

Sorry to break it to ya but doom will be an everydown player and a pro bowler. He's to athletic and to much of a playmaker. I don't think he's a horrible as you think he is against the run.

Starting 2 rookies on the dline is not a great idea. Defensive line besides qb is the hardest transition to the nfl.

Currently, it takes six accrued seasons for a player to become unrestricted. But a new CBA is expected to revert to the previous rules that qualify a player for unrestricted free agency after four seasons.

We take Fairley or Dareus, then we trade up for Paea, or perhaps get lucky and get him in the second. I wouldn't care if we tanked the whole rest of the draft if we could just get this to happen. i would be on cloud nine.

The 2-2's together gets them back into the teens. Whats the 3 with a 2 get them? Then they'd still have a 2.

As much as I love Martez Wilson, there has been reference to him being a better SAM prospect...which cools me off on him. Also, I expect him to sneak into round 1. Pittsburgh could really use a guy like him on the inside as Farrior is getting long in the tooth. That said, I'd be happy if our top 3 picks were all DLine. We grab Dareus, Marvin Austin and a DE like Allen Bailey and I'd be smiling ear to ear.

This would also allow us to make a push for Beason in 2012. If we can't land him, Don'ta Hightower of Alabama would be top of my list in the 2012 draft.

I hear LB's are expected to be better next year, are they also deeper, like the DL this year? Or will a #17pick be too late? And is it all 3 LB positions?

Honestly, I have yet to look at the specific names. I know Hightower would been clear #1 this year, but he stayed in school to get one more year behind his bad 2009 injury.

yep. . . that's been my problem with him all along-- he's athletic, but is he tough and instinctive enough to be a true MIKE? if he's not, he's not worth investing what it will take to get him at this time. . . it is a desperate need, but that doesn't mean we should reach in the draft to fill it-- not when there are plenty of other holes we can fill. . .

i've been saying for months, our best plan is to take FULL advantage of the DL depth, instead of using it as yet another excuse to NOT fix the spot. . . draft to the value of this class, and that's DL-- when will value ever conicide better with need? i don't wanna be spending picks on potentially mediocre LBs and questionable safeties when we can be drafting legit beastly DL prospects. . .

But if he lasted until our SECOND 2nd round pick, I'd grab him up and try him at MIKE. If he struggles, he looks like a very good SAM. DJ at WILL, Wilson at SAM and either Beason or Hightower added to MIKE in 2012 would make me very happy.

You do not spend 1st or 2nd round picks on a SLB there are just to many lbs out there that can play it that can be had in the 3-6 rounds.

Please remember that 4-3 LB is one of the easiest positions to transition into in the NFL.

Get the DL fixed this year to get that wxpirence down sonar can be ready to rock and roll next year.

We are not going to the playoffs this coming year unless they get a CBA signed and done in the next week or two. As the transition to Foxs schemes are going to take more time than we wan to think especially since the team is so young. We will need every minute we can get in otas and TC as we can get.

Having a new head coach gives us an extra OTA. To work out the playbook.

But no CBA means we Are starting even farther behind than oak San and KC are.

While I agree that this is a deep DL draft, Wilson is the best 4-3 LB in this draft, w/ the exception of Von Miller who may be 3-4 OLB anyways. I like the idea of grabbing the best at a certain position...especially if it's w/ our 3rd pick.

QCarter isn't" questionable"......but he may not be around after all your DL fetishes are satisfied.
