Tatum Bell is apparently tweeting Elway asking for a chance to come to camp and compete.

Geez, I didn't know Bell held the UFL's single game rushing record... 365 yds!

Thoughts?

Ravage!!!

I don't see why not. I think he could compete for the starting role (although I do admit that even as hard as I've been on Moreno, I love his energy and how he looked the last couple games). Even if not the starting role, he could add some explosiveness to the backfield of which Moreno does NOT have. Certainly as good as we've had here the last couple years.

Bell came in, out of football shape, and ran his butt off in 2008. I found it
incredible that McDaniels didn't invite him back, at least to compete for a spot,
considering some of the wannabes in there at the time.

Bring him in . . .

And there's your answer. Apparently neither Bell, Hillis, nor Torain were good enough to compete with the likes of the great Lamont Jordan and Lawrence Maroney...

Couldn't agree more. It near physically hurts me remembering lifeless soft duds like Jordan and Maroney carrying the ball in Broncos uniform.

Why not? He quit selling motorola rzr's and walked in and did a pretty good job on the field considering everything that was against him. He should at least be able to come in and compete.

 maybe the cellphones helped with his grip. I'm sure the business he worked for didn't like broken products and lost profit. Seriously though he doesn't need a starter job at all but he wouldn't be bad on the chart compared to the guys in skirts we had last year. course when tater was the starter i was upset cause mike bell was in the dog house:laugh:

is he still fast?

if he is, i wouldn't object to him competing for a spot in camp-- our RBs are garbage besides moreno for six games a year-- but i wouldn't let it stop us from pursuing other options. . .

and it would have to be stipulated in his contract that he wouldn't steal anyone's luggage. . .

Tater not a fan, most folks wanted to beleive he would be the second coming of poortis.

The three games he gave us in 08 where pretty good but also remember he was running behind an OL that did not miss a game due to injury.

I suspect that those 3 are about all he has in he tank per year.

That's like having a flood and saying that it was the last drops of water that caused all the damage. One move after another stole the team's life blood of talent away. Look at the talent the Broncos sent downstream and compare it to what was expected to be a replacement.

It wasn't clear to me that you meant specifically defense. While I don't this for fact I would bet that Dean wasn't talking about the defense. That aside, McDaniels must have thought, Haggans, Dumervil, D.J. Williams, Bailey, Woodyard, and Thomas were at the very least good.

I hate to repeat myself (I'm not that interesting) but I'll try one more time to make a points. Tatum had the ball in his possession for 569 carries and 71 receptions. Of these 640 situations he fumbled 10 times and we lost 7 of them. That is NOT a ball security issue.

IMO, it would be stupid to spend a draft choice for a RB, with all the Broncos'
other needs. DeAngelo is still out there. They should go after him with everything
they have. And bring in Tater.

Those are two players who have produced in the NFL. What player in the draft
has produced in the NFL? I would hate to see them draft a RB.

Let me preface this by saying that I don't see Tatum as a RB savior or probably even a starter. However, with those NFL players who have been charged with sexual assault, grand theft, accessory to murder, etc, I don't imagine that stealing luggage is the deal breaker in a pro football locker room. Some have come from rather checkered pasts.
