He keeps it up, and people will be saying, "Jason who...?"

I'd love to see him go for the record. That last kick was right down the middle from 51 and had at least 10-15 yards to spare.

Yea, it would have to be in Denver, but in the right situation, Shanahan would definately let him. Would have to be a big lead, or more likely time expiring, because a miss gives the other team great field position.

A day I was reporting from Camp he made from 68 and it would have been good from 75 easy. Hit it dead center no doubt it was crazy.

As long as he has the 'nerves', he certainly seems to have the leg and mechanics to be very good.

I was hoping Cutler would get sacked so Prater could kick a 60 plus yard FG.
I'm pissed at our Oline for not allowing him to get sacked that much :(
OH well. Theres always next week. :salute:

No, it's not forgiven. If he makes that kick, we have a chance to tie late in the 4th quarter instead of being down 10 and being forced to kick the FG on 3rd down and try for the onside kick. Missing a 28 yarder is completely unforgivable.

Or I was hoping for another false start. Instead of 56 yards I wanted it to be 61 yards :)

That 56 yarder didn't clear the bar by enough to have been good from 61.

But at the time I didn't know that. I wanted to see if he would make it from 61 or not. But he made 2 50 yarders so I'm happy. :salute:

I hate that we lost, but I don't blame Matt. It would've been nice not to miss the field goal, but Matt is doing an outstanding job and he has a bright future with the Broncos.

The 51 yarder did though. He didn't get all of the 56 yarder, but he boomed that 51 yarder straight through the uprights with plenty of room to spare.

Hell, I dont blame the kid for gagging on a 27 yarder.....he went back to the sideline and and put his nuts back in his sack and nailed..........NAILED............2 from 50 plus.

He didnt lose any game.

I never said he was the reason we lost?

I said that him missing that FG was inexcusable because the lack of those 3 points at the end of the game put us in a much more precarious situation. I didn't say we lost because of that.

He could have made a 70 yard FG and it still wouldn't excuse missing a 28 yarder.

No Denver didn't have a double header on CBS so I only saw score updates. How close was it?

Prater has done a pretty damn good job so far. The 1 miss can be excused. It shows something that the guy missed what should be a gimme, then goes back out there and nails 2 50+ yarders. This guy could be our kicker for the next 10 years.

Tebow4Ever

He is now tied with Janikowski for the longest kick of the season with that 56 yarder.Elam's season long is only 50. 8-)

And if the Defense was able to stop LJ or Bowe, they wouldn't have scored 33 points. If Cutler hadn't thrown 2 int, if Royal hadn't fumbled, if Marshall hadn't fumbled, etc. This loss was on the ENTIRE team. One missed FG was the least of our problems yesterday. ;) Showing no heart against a 0-3 team is more of an issue than a missed FG.

Novak missed a FG as well. Ish happens. Least of our problems.

I like Prater. Great technique, solid leg. He missed one from short and nailed 2 long ones. It was what it was. Kid has a great future.

The only problem with your argument is that I never said it was the biggest of our problems or the reason we lost the game.

Should I type slower?

Maybe you should, because you sure have a habit of spouting off and then demanding that you meant something else.

No....you stated that the missed FG was unforgiveable...when it didn't even count at the end, we didn't lose by 3 points. ;)

Precarious position....I wasn't aware that losing by 11 is better than losing by 14....it's still losing.

And I stand by the fact that it's unforgivable. And the "I wasn't aware that losing by 11 is better than losing by 14" argument is BS because I've already explained how that FG would have helped us down the stretch. (See post #9)

And to answer another point, of course crappy play by the defense and the 4 turnovers on offense were the main reasons we lost, but the topic of this thread is Prater, so wouldn't it make sense to discuss his role in us losing other than all of these other off-topic factors you guys continue to bring up?

Nah, what am I thinking? It's impossible for anyone here to stay on topic.

I disagree that the miss was unforgiveable. Simple as that, you don't have to agree with it.
