As LenDale White continues to work back to health after a season-ending injury, the running back said the time away from the field has granted him a new perspective on his career.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- LenDale White entered the offseason hoping to resume running by the end of this month.

The goal represented the latest step in the running back's lengthy rehabilitation since an Achilles injury in the Broncos' final preseason game ended his 2010 regular season.

But as he moves closer to a return to the football field, White said he will focus on what he can control. That means adopting a simple approach to his comeback.

If LenDale finally has his head on straight, he could be an absolute beast . . .

I agree he is a damned fine RB and can block as well. I think had he been around last year things might have turned out different, as far as wins and loses are concerned.

hard to lose a starter like Doom, Ayers (Partially) White and IIRC Moreno was dinged up much of the year and that is not even counting the OL play till late in the year..

what's the track record for RBs coming back from this kind of injury? of the top of my head, I can think of a couple of QBs that blew an achilles tendon and returned, but probably a bit different for a RB (and a BIG RB no less).

I prefer a medium pace.

amazing how much of a difference those unsung heroes can make on a team's success, eh?

It's a shame that the Broncos were (apparently) the only team that had to overcome injuries this year.

I guess these injuries just showed how amazingly shallow the talent is/was on this team.

Many many teams had injury issues, some of them are still having them, but due to quality talent at more than 1 level, they are still playing.

Isn't that the truth! I read that the Packers have placed 17 players on IR, IIRC.

How did that work out?

True, but, if one of those players was Clay Matthews, would we still be having this conversation?

Doom is our Clay Matthews... :whoknows:

Yes, there is always that one impact player a team cannot afford to lose. For
instance, the difference in Pittsburgh's defense is like day and night,
depending on whether Polamalu is in there. And what did it mean to the Bears
to get Urlacher back? I think that is what Dumervil means to the Broncos . . .

Doom is huge... I am excited about the new rookies to go along with Doom's return...
I expect them to be thrown right in like we did with Beadles and Walton. It's a rebuilding year...
we gonna rebuild.

Len White... eh.. hopefulluy optomistic,
It is a great story for him ... I just have concerns that he will simply
get in there and then in week 3 be gone for the year.

He is gonna have to earn his spot.

Ands what is the offical word on his 4 game suspension?
Was that last season being on the roster enough to satisfy the league...
or do we invest in him ... then not be able to use him...
and then when he gets injured again we are still out a RB?

Just wondering.

Personally, I don't believe it will be a rebuilding year. I believe the Broncos
will be competitive again this year. In the last few games last year, the
running game, defense, and pass protection began to show some life.

Players will be healthy: Moreno, Dumervil, Ayers, for starters, as well as
LenDale (hopefully), whom the OP was talking about. The Broncos just may
have (knock on wood) found a MLB in Joe Mays (he reminded me a little of
one Al Wilson). They will probably get help in the interior line in the draft,
and the arrival of Fox gives the Broncos maybe the best "comeback coach"
available.

And there is, I believe, a lot more than just that to which one can point.

We had better enjoy our #2 pick this year because I personally believe we
will be picking at least in the middle of the pack next year . . .

People forget how banged up the Packers actually were. They lost their 1,000 yard rusher, young elite TE, and IIRC their MLB among others.

Somebody claimed, after his injury and subsequent IR, that the suspension wouldn't effect next year.

Sorry, Dave....don't know if they knew what they were talking about or just bloviating.

Totally correct. The Colts were SLAMMED with injuries and yet still made the playoffs.

Love your optimism. It is badly needed on these forums IMO.
