View Full Version : Krieger: Denver's new DC will stop a trend

Apparently, somebody told Dennis Allen about the frightful recent history of his new job before I had the chance. Meaning I didn't get to break it to him that chewing up and spitting out defensive gurus is sort of an annual rite around here.

So when I asked him over the phone Wednesday if he's hoping to break the streak of six Broncos defensive coordinators in six years, he laughed.

"Well, absolutely," he said. "Because my math says if it keeps up, I'm only going to be there for a year."

And...

why we shouldn't worry too much about Tebow becoming a "great quarterback".

Strong Safety...

Just watched Dave's Tebow vid....he looked like Lynch at a couple points. He has the build of a safety.

I heard Voldemort jinxed the Denver DC position.

no big issue-- tebow can reverse that easily enough. . .

Well.... To be truthful.... We did once have this DC who was pretty good. He was so good that a "young gun" HC type ran his ass off. ALL he did then was go somewhere else and make THAT team a top 10 defense in one year too....

Let's hope under fox this guy can fix our D once and for all.

Tired of the revolving door there.

As dog said in another thread with the SURE lack of training situations between now and the season, it is not the time to be changing schemes.

Talking about the teams new direction in regard to coaching philosophy. Adjusting game planning and play calling to suit the players strength.

It's not just on Defense.

The scheme isn't the problem it's the personnel.

Maybe he won't break the trend. Maybe he will do so well in Denver that he will get a head coaching job next year?

Woulda been just a matter of time. History has a way of repeating itself. :coffee:

Well it WOULD have been "just a matter of time" since McDaniels was making all the personnel decisions and that train was barreling down the wrong track at 90 MPH! :coffee:

There's only so much a good DC can do when his defense is Bailey & Dumervil & the nine dwarves! :coffee:
